Moaning Lisa give us the low on their latest album release 'Something Like This But Not This', touring plans, living and gigging in Canberra, their experiences and focusses on gig etiquette and social activism, and of course, their 'BIG 3' star signs (the important stuff, we know)
We're super excited for this one - we get to chat to Ben Lee about social media presence, indigenous awareness, personal identity, tik tok, collaboration, and heaps more; and of course his latest release 'Born For This Bullshit'.
We’re back and almost better than ever, with everyone on their own mic and sounding great!
In this episode we chat to Sez, a comedian, musician, tik-tok creator, podcaster, and otherwise creative Brunswickian originally from the Blue Mountains NSW. As her triple j unearthed bio confirms, she has stories that will scare you and make you feel warm and fuzzy at the same time, and we’ve caught just a few of them in this hour and a half episode!
Check her out online - including her very own podcast ‘Child of 98’, and check in early next month when we chat to Ben Lee!
We've returned from another unplanned hiatus and this time we're back with Jimmy and Cam from The VANNS! We chat about the new single 'Feels Good Now', COVID life, Triple J lols, BTS funnies, and more.
This episode is a hot mess. It's been a while and we're out of practice, but settle in for 45 mins of updates, shit-talking, and a chat with Sly Withers!
Welcome to BackBeat’s first episode of 2021!
In this one we are out in the field, on-site at Stay Gold in Brunswick for the Teenage Joans / TOWNS co-headliner, chatting to them about all things tour, new releases, crazy Adelaide stories, and their Aussie faves.
Due to being recorded on-site at the actual venue right before their show, there is a bit of background noise, mostly music from the front bar in Ollies Pizza Bar (check it out, amaaazing food), but hopefully it’s not too bad post-edit.
Be sure to check out both of these amazing Adelaide duos doing amazing things and keep your ears and eyes peeled for a super cool next ep!

Enjoy this short chat and we’ll be back with full episodes soon enough!

Hello everyone and welcome back to the Backbeat Podcast!
In this episode we chat with Cath Haridy. Cath is the executive director of the Association of Artist Managers, and is also an artists manager herself for her own management company. She is an ambassador for APRA/AMCOS and Support Act and a member of the board for Music Victoria.
We talk all about supporting womxn in the industry, the two fantastic new programs coming from the AAM (Association of Artist Managers). The AAM has announced two mentor programs, one for womxn, and one for Victorians. These are two groups who have been adversely affected by the pandemic, so giving those managers access to this mentor program is a real boost.
In this week’s episode we chat to the wonderful Odette, and her Bull Arab Kenneth.. We go over mental health and depersonalisation, her songwriting influences, her latest release 'Dwell', the story of her parents meeting on the set of TITANIC(???), and of course her Aussie faves and more!
Check out ‘Dwell’ and the incredible music video for it out now, and keep your eyes peeled for her upcoming releases.
The next few weeks of episodes are a little less planned out than usual but we’ll be sure to keep you updated!
