This time we chat to the duo behind Bubble Productions, a local ‘ethically focussed’ photography and videography production company who cater to events, advertising, documentaries, weddings and modelling - and now, music! Nick and Sheri chat with us about their early beginnings since meeting at uni, funky production stories, favourite documentaries and films, the end of the world, and of course their Australian faves.
At this point, our next guest is Alex from Groover, a networking and feedback platform being brought to Australia to help artists gain industry feedback on their tracks before releasing them. WE also have some really funky guests planned going forward so fingers crossed all goes well.
In the meantime, enjoy!
In this hilarious episode we chat to Dylan and Liam from local alt-rock band ‘Reside’, who’ve recently released their track ‘Fallen’. We chat about all things beginnings, lockdown, creativity, emotional support, memes and local band ‘beef’, and more! This is probably one of our favourite episodes so far so we hope you enjoy as much as we did!
Next week we chat to the due behind Bubble Productions about their involvement with local brands and businesses, and their movement into the local music scene.
Catch!
This episode we chat to Josh Hicks, founder of Robot Jaw Records, to go over their latest project 'The Be Good Project’ - a creative collaboration album and artwork collection all about mental health awareness.
As of right now we believe the digital version of the Be Good project is available, and the physical version will be out next week so be sure to check out Robot Jaw Records and all the awesome artists they’ve collaborated with for this awesome cause.
Next week, we chat to the local alt-rock boys from Reside, and we think it might be one of our favourite interviews so far. Keep your eyes peeled for that one, and we’ll catch you next week!
In this episode, we spoke with jazzy soul babe Miss Emilia about her latest solo release 'Woman With Needs', and what it's like being a woman in the modern industry and working world. We go over female empowerment, competition between the sexes (and amongst themselves), personal industry experiences with sexism, objectification, discrimination, and more, including some of her positive experiences as a woman.
As it turns out, we actually have a HEAP more content to pump out to you guys, so for a while we will once again be publishing on a weekly basis. Next week, we have an episode with Dylan and Liam from Melbourne alt-rock band Reside, where we chat a lot about mental health, social media skits, Liam's famous GLITTER TEARS, and their 'beef' with Liam's prior band, Windwaker. It's hilarious.
We Skype chat to Ben Stewart - Slowly Slowly frontman - about his new-ish project, 'Congrats', and the process in the creation of the pop solo project. Ben goes over mental health, philosophy, his new pupper Rosie, his personal influences, and more! We had a ball chatting to Ben and are absolutely loving the new Congrats releases - Lobotomy is out now on Spotify and wherever you consume your fave music! At this point we’re looking to be back to our regular upload schedule so you’ll hear from us again in two weeks time, when we chat to Miss Emilia, a local Melbourne based, jazz soul rnb queen, where we talk all about her new solo career, managing herself and her band The Mamas, and female empowerment and what that looks like to her.
These recent and upcoming episodes are all being recorded remotely, between Gabby, Jahmiele, and our guests, so apologies for any background noise and Skype chat fuzz.
This is another mini episode Due to face to face and travel restrictions, we’ve had a few more phone interviews than usual, serving as our episodes for this little while
In this minisode I chat to Aussie indie-rocker Jack Bratt. We go over his change to a solo career, his creative process, the story behind his latest single ‘The Outsider’, staying humble, his love of basketball and Rolling Stone, some doggo chats, and more!
Listen up and check out the new single ‘The Outsider’, with its adorable, bittersweet video of a stranded astronaut, finding love and belonging on earth - out now!
We had a small technical issue so the first little part of the first question and answer are cut off, so for a little opening context, jack is talking about what provoked his change from performing with a band to going solo.
Enjoy!
This is another mini episode, as given the covid situation, Gabby and myself are separated between cities and lets just say, we weren’t entirely prepared for it. Due to face to face and travel restrictions, we’ve got a few more phone interviews than usual, serving as our episodes for the next little while.
In this minisode I chat to Aussie folk troubadour Josh Pyke. After a 5 year break, Josh is back with his new album Rome , which was released just yesterday, and its absolutely gorgeous - but don’t take my word for it, check out our review of the album on our website now and have a listen to the 11 track collection now on Spotify and wherever else you get your music fix.
This episode, Josh tells us about how times have changed, his issues with anxiety and overcoming mental health issues, the process of writing not just songs but also children’s books, and more!
We tried to pack it all in to a 15 minute call but we did pretty well, if I do say so myself!
Listen up and check out the new album ‘Rome’ out now!
Enjoy!
This is more of a mini episode, as given the cove situation, Gabby and myself are separated between cities and lets just say, we weren’t entirely prepared for it. Due to face to face and travel restrictions, we’ve got a few more phone interviews than usual, serving as our episodes for the next little while. In this minisode I chat to Harper Bloom about her upcoming debut EP ‘Faith, Sex and Skin’, and we go over current and past life struggles, mental health, what she’s up to at the moment, how the writing and recording process has been for her during isolation, and a few other casual pop-culture chats.
In this episode we chat with with Jack Pierce, one half of acoustic folk duo The Pierce Brothers, where we chat all about what isolation has looked like for him, the new Pierce Brothers’ releases, working with a twin, and his new-found passion for woodwork. Check out The Pierce brother’s latest release KANKO and keep your eye out for the new singles coming over the next few months in lead up to the new album. As always, thanks for the support thus far, and we hope to get back into a semi-regular posting schedule soon. Stay safe and we’ll catch you next time.
Once again, we’ve been a bit absent on the episodes front, but we hope to make up for it with new episodes both this week AND next, not to mention they feature some amazing local guests. In this episode we bring you up to speed on our iso-hiatus and new developments, and we chat to Ryan from The Motion Below about their latest releases, his advice on how to make the best of your band, and his Aussie heavy favourites, enjoy!
