Our friend Wesley Rea joins Nate to talk about some of the most condensed versions of backlog wisdom we find ourselves coming back to time and time again. Ironically, it ended up being one of our longest bite sized episodes ever.

This week we invited our friend Jonathan Hodrick on to talk about the way that he gets the most out of his game time using different challenges and limitations to push himself to play in different ways. John's added a ton of great contributions on Facebook and Discord, and the backlog bros were really excited to finally have him on for a chat. Check the article he wrote for The Reformed Gamers' blog on using your gaming time wisely here.

With the recent release of Shin Megami Tensei V on Nintendo Switch you may be asking yourself some questions like "Where are the other 4 games?" or "Why does it have a Japanese title" or "What is the shin bone connected to?". Well never fear, because Josh is here to ramble about the series and its origins for about 20 minutes.

A few things of note happened in the past couple of weeks that we wanted to address. The first is that Metroid Dread was released as a full-priced $60 game, and the second is that the Nintendo Online Expansion Pass was made available for $50/year. There's been different forms of backlash to both of these things and today we're here to ask: why? Do we agree with the current pricing structures? Should we join the outrage mob? Or should we all just focus on our backlogs?

We wanted to discuss some thoughts on The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill after listening to this episode of Cultish and the way it reframes some of the events of the church. There's a lot to learn about the situation but we tried to limit ourselves to an hour and a half of a podcast about a podcast about a podcast.
