This week on The Backside Poddy we are joined by Leigh Clifford from Bikebug! He gives us the downlow on all things Shimano, the latest releases as well as some indication as to what the new groupset could look like and a potential release date!

Along with the Shimano excitement we debrief an eventful world champs and master national champs along with Nicko’s big win on the weekend. The mountain has seen some 1 wheel action lately too!

This week on The Backside Poddy, we are joined by champion sprint track cyclist Kristina Clonan. She has achieved gold medals at comm games, podiumed at world champs and even dabbled in a bit of bobsledding. We go through how she transitioned from an endurance track cyclist to now being one of the best in the world in track sprint cycling. Of course no champion is bred without setbacks and we hear of a few stories where her resilience shone through and made her the athlete she is today.

The lads also quickly preview junior and masters national champs along with the biggest race of the year, road world champs.

We hear some pretty epic stories from Flanders and the joys of life in Belgium during classics season. Blake discusses his future plans with his coaching business and potentially a comeback for the Noosa crit!

This week on The Backside Poddy, Friebs and Johnny are back on home territory and they debrief their epic escape from France, everything from the mountains they climbed, to the Aperol's that were consumed and the chicken burgers that were ejected, strap in because this trip had it all. The other great tour that was happening at the same time was The TDF and we wrap it up briefly along with some spiciness that's been happening on a mountain much closer to home.

He's the sort of rider who has learned to adapt to different racing styles, languages and cuisines. To now where he has settled in Brisbane pursuing his studies and looking to the future beyond cycling.

We also quickly debrief week 1 of the TDF and quickly catch up with Friebs and Johnny just after their Mont Ventoux ascent.
