We all know the ebb and flow of resolutions. We set a simple or lofty goal to achieve, only to find that we slip up a day, week, or month later. That gives us permission to try again next year!
Each year we kind of reinvent by making resolutions. We aim to reinvent ourselves by exercising, eating better, losing weight, or saving money. Yet reinvention has slightly different meanings:
So when we try again, we revive a resolution. When we remake, we reconstruct our lives into a different form. When we invent again, we give ourselves permission to keep trying until we are happy with the results.
Learning leads to reinvention. If you commit to trying and failing you are on the right track.
I wish you a happy, healthy, and successful 2023. May your reinventions (and resolutions) lead to bigger and better things for you, your family, and your business!
In this episode, we will explore how you can reinvent resolutions by looking at your business in a different way!

Tis The Season…
for holiday parties. There are cookies everywhere. There are cookie exchanges because you can’t get enough. You can’t eat all your own cookies (well I guess you could if you tried hard enough).
Marketing is a lot like cookies. It can be unique and tasty, or it can be just junk food. It all depends on the recipe and the artist mixing it up and baking it. If you think about it, you eat marketing cookies every day in your browser.
In B2b marketing, your content is your cookies. Some businesses try to use browser cookies and other ad techniques to attract buyers, but with B2b marketing, you will find that the websites customers visit (like LinkedIn) don’t use consumer-style cookies in their advertising. So, you have to use a great recipe, and quality ingredients to attract people’s eyes and hearts.
In this episode, we will explore how you can create content, in small bite-sized morsels, that will keep people coming back for MORE!

Tis The Season…
The end of the year is always interesting. It’s a time to reflect on the past, while we look toward the future, and many of us are giving and getting presents! having moved to a new city, many of our presents are coming and going via Secret Santa Trucks (White = FedEx, Brown = UPS, and Blue = Amazon).
It’s kinda like a gift exchange. If someone sends you a gift, generally we feel obligated to send them one of equal or greater value in exchange.
Another thing that happens this time of year is meetings and parties. In the course of a couple of days, I met a marketing person who was looking for some guidance, and a professional expert who speaks around the world on B2b marketing. The newbie was exploring a strategy to use Instagram and TikTok to build a brand, while the pro said she works in the “Boring World” of B2b marketing.
What follows is a list of four ways I have seen marketers, experts, and agencies try to use flashy and trendy consumer tactics.
In this episode, we will explore how consumer tactics are generally bright and shiny, but often lack the ability to generate B2b Sales!
Mike has more than 20 years of experience in advertising and marketing, and his ability to understand and connect with an audience is the hallmark of his career. The approach he shares is what taught him how to understand an audience and deliver his message in a way they will not forget. Mike spent 13 years in the agency world as a client services specialist before joining Hasbro Toys and Games on the global marketing team, where he developed marketing and retail programs for brands like Transformers, Tonka Trucks, and Jurassic World. In 2015, he became the face of the Hasbro Gaming franchise, with the charge to establish the personality, attitude, and style of the Hasbro Gaming portfolio by creating a message the audience won’t soon forget. Mike has engaged his practice with audiences in the US, Hong Kong, India, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, and the UK, and every one of these audiences remembers him for not just what he says, but how he connects with them. After over 20 years of real-world experience, Mike is thrilled to share his experience with you, and to show you how to get your audience to say…
Do you remember the good old days?
Go back to before 2007 and remember what your world was like. You may have been a PC or a Mac (you surely remember those commercials). Moore’s Law is the philosophy that says “a given technology will double its power about every two years.” That makes sense if you look at just the memory in an iPhone. In 14 years (2007 to 2021) memory has exponentially grown (2/4/8/16/32/64/128 gig), and so has the power of processing chips.
Call me Captain Obvious, but all that technology can become numbing to what its intent was and still is, a tool to help us become more productive and do business better!
That same device that has all that technology also possesses the tools we need to maximize this opportunity. I want to focus today on five FREE things that you can do with your phone (and/or a laptop or desktop computer) that will help you thrive in your relationship challenges in 2023.
In this episode, we will explore how to look at these basic programs we all have, but most of us don’t utilize them. The main goal should be to use them to build Better Business Relationships!

Golf is a fairly simple game. You hit a little white (or colored in my case) ball from a tee to a cup in the grass. It’s meant to be done in 3, 4, or 5 touches of the ball. Many people think it’s a competitive sport, but in reality, I have found that it’s you and your skill set versus the golf course.
So you are probably asking yourself, “Hey… This is a Marketing and Sales blog, what does golf have to do with my business?” Well, I have been in business for over 40 years (50 if you count when I made Christmas wreaths and sold them in my neighborhood as a kid). I have almost 10,000-15,000 hours (or 4 times my golf rounds) of experience in business. I have also done business with all kinds, types, and skilled people (from complete duffers to near-pro level). Now, I can categorize them into 5 basic types:
In this episode, we will explore how golf and business have the same goal… getting the ball in the hole (Score) with as little effort as possible!
