Learning to accept and get power from those cave moments.
The transformational spaces that we enter to learn and grow are often hard to handle...often the low points in our lives where we question ourselves and what we want.
Join me as I explore this and other gems in this reflection from my talk with Alina Apostol.
Living and practicing psychotherapy is a field that has gained a lot of attention in 2020. As the levels of uncertainty about the pandemic increased, so have anxiety, depression and other related mental illnesses. In this epic, I am joined by therapist and astrologer Alina Apostol who has created a unique approach to her therapy practice with the intention of helping and healing people using the science of astrology.
As you prepare for 2021, glean some insights from a celestial perspective and allow yourself to explore the power and mystery of this ancient art.
What amazing things have you created by embracing the suckie parts of life?
In my reflections today, I share the reason why its important to look at life's challenges as opportunities. Those epic fails are often where most of our important lessons on greatness are buried. Take a moment also to check in on yourself with a bliss checklist. One of the gems I picked up from my conversation with Katie Hoff.
Are you feeling extraordinary today?
It is not often that we think of embracing the challenges we face in life as an integral and necessary part of our journey. And yet, it is through her challenges that Katie Hoff was able to find her sense of purpose and create an extraordinary business for other athletes. U.S. Olympic medalist and former world record holder; TedX Speaker and Author Katie Hoff shares her story of overcoming a life altering challenge early in her career. This was a catalyst for her self-discovery, creating a life of meaning and choosing to intentionally focus on accessing her bliss.
Katie's story is detailed in her new book "Blueprint - an Olympian's Story of Striving, Adapting and Embracing the Suck". It's now available on Amazon
In our reflection we cover a few key things that can support your shift in transitioning from a corporate job to building your own business.
These include: Courage - taking bold steps towards the career that you desire is key Support System - ensure you have a partner or other kind of support system to lean on for insights, encouragement, money etc. Why - know your intention behind your business Community - build a community that is interested in what you're creating
The uncertainty of leaving a successful role in corporate keeps many female leaders away from the call of entrepreneurship. Connie Zack was not one of these women. In this epic, Connie shares her journey from being a successful executive in a high profile company to building a business from deficit to dynamite!
As a budding entrepreneur, listening to Connie's story of belief and overcoming was a true source of inspiration. This one is for all the founding females out there - follow your heart and your thirst for making a difference in the world.
If each of us just takes one step towards whatever it is we want to create for our lives, no matter what area... no matter how small the step, we will be on our way to creating the life of our dreams.
In this reflection, I share some of the key tips, like this one, that I took away from my conversation with Dr. Heather Kunen.
Innovation is taking two things that exist and putting them together in a new way. This is the path that Dr. Heather Kunen took when she joined forces to create Beam St. The dry bar for cosmetic dentistry in the heart of New York City!
Who ever thought that dentistry could be sexy? Well I certainly did not...until I talked with Heather. Heather's career journey and the story of Beam St. a reminder that innovation is available to everyone. She shares a few of the key components a successful founder needs to consider to live, love and lead well.
We also discover that we have something pretty cool in common. Listen in to find out more!
What Is Your Truth?
This is just one of the things I reflect upon from my conversation with Barbara Cook, CEO of Lovers Retail stores. The essence of our truth and our ability to be vulnerable has a great deal to do with how we approach our sexual wellness. Being able to find a common purpose theme in all of the various jobs or in your career over time is a helpful reminder of your "Why".
Also, recognizing that you can't become yourself by yourself... there's always someone there to help you along. This can be through both positive and negative in experiences.
