We read and reflect on Luke 24:1-12. I note that in this text the two men who appear at the tomb do NOT say “Be not afraid,” and that gives me permission sometimes to be afraid at the momentous events in my (spiritual) life. I also talk about owning my own story regardless of other people’s reactions.

We read and reflect on Matthew 28:17-20. I talk about whether or not we would really want Jesus to be with us every day. I also reflect on what it means to do this as a spiritual discipline and not as a time of teaching or study.

We read and reflect on Matthew 28:1-16, talking about how we are emotionally complex beings (NOT with the emotional range of teaspoons!). I ask how you will connect with the people you care for most deeply during the pandemic.

We read and reflect on Mark 16:9-20, thinking about how in times of pain and grief it can be difficult and even impossible to accept or believe or even hope for new realities.

We read and reflect on Mark 16:1-8, paying attention to time, secrecy, and the realization that it is ok to keep some things to ourselves.

We read and reflect on John 20:19-23, and why Jesus might say peace to his disciples both to calm their fears and to calm their joy.
