  • Dusty Slay - The Barn

    Send us Fan Mail

    Long hair, tobacco, over-sized glasses and a trucker hat, Dusty Slay is the self-effacing bourbon-voiced Southern comedian next door with a knack for observational, blue-collar humor and the nerve to say what everyone else is thinking. He grew up the son of a single mom in an Alabama trailer park and evokes laughs about everything from Cracker Barrel to his aversion to soap. The 40-year-old Nashville native is a mainstay on the country music scene, making his Grand Ole Opry debut in 2019 – the youngest at the time, and adding dozens of appearances in the historic Circle ever since.

     He has also appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live, has a Comedy Central special to his credit and released his first hour-long Netflix special "Workin' Man" in January ‘24 that he filmed about three hours from home, at the Bijou theater in Knoxville, Tennessee. The debut album has remained in the top 20 specials on Netflix in the company of legendary comedians like Dave Chappelle and Kevin Hart. With almost 20 years of eliciting guffaws through his laidback observations, comedic cadence and conversational style, Dusty is just getting started bringing his brand of relatable working-class comedy to audiences coast to coast. Slay recently announced his 35-show “The Night Shift Tour” in support of the new special. See below for tour routing and more details can be found at DustySlay.com.

  • Ricochet - Midwest Mixtape Podcast

    Send us Fan Mail

    Ricochet is a country music band that rose to fame in the mid-1990s, becoming known for their distinctive harmonies and energetic performances. Formed in 1993 in Oklahoma, the original lineup consisted of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Heath Wright, lead guitarist Eddie Kilgallon, bass guitarist Greg Cook, drummer Jeff Bryant, and keyboardist Teddy Carr. Ricochet quickly gained attention in the country music scene with their blend of traditional country and rock influences, setting them apart from other acts of the time.

    Their breakthrough came in 1996 with the release of their self-titled debut album under Columbia Records. The album spawned several hit singles, with the standout track "Daddy's Money" becoming their signature song. "Daddy's Money" reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and was a commercial success, solidifying Ricochet's place in the country music industry. The song, with its catchy melody and relatable lyrics about a young man's infatuation with a girl whose charm and beauty overshadow her wealthy background, became a fan favorite and remains one of the most memorable tracks of the 1990s country music era.

    In addition to "Daddy's Money," the band's debut album produced other notable singles such as "What Do I Know" and "Love Is Stronger Than Pride," both of which charted in the Top 10 on the country charts. These songs showcased Ricochet's ability to blend heartfelt lyrics with upbeat, toe-tapping rhythms, earning them a loyal fanbase and critical acclaim.

    One of the defining features of Ricochet's music is their tight vocal harmonies, which set them apart from many of their contemporaries. This vocal blend became a hallmark of their sound, drawing comparisons to legendary groups like the Eagles. Their ability to harmonize effortlessly was a key factor in their success and contributed to their reputation as a dynamic live act.

    Ricochet continued to release music throughout the late 1990s and into the early 2000s, with albums like Blink of an Eye and What a Ride. Although they never quite recaptured the commercial success of their debut, they remained a popular touring band, beloved by fans for their high-energy shows and relatable songs.

    Psalm 103

    Of David.

    1 Praise the Lord, my soul;
    all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
    2 Praise the Lord, my soul,
    and forget not all his benefits—
    3 who forgives all your sins
    and heals all your diseases,
    4 who redeems your life from the pit
    and crowns you with love and compassion,
    5 who satisfies your desires with good things
    so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

    6 The Lord works righteousness
    and justice for all the oppressed.

    7 He made known his ways to Moses,
    his deeds to the people of Israel:
    8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
    slow to anger, abounding in love.
    9 He will not always accuse,
    nor will he harbor his anger forever;
    10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
    or repay us according to our iniquities.
    11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
    so great is his love for those who fear him;
    12 as far as the east is from the west,
    so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

    13 As a father has compassion on his children,
    so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
    14 for he knows how we are formed,
    he remembers that we are dust.
    15 The life of mortals is like grass,
    they flourish like a flower of the field;
    16 the wind blows over it and it is gone,
    and its place remembers it no more.
    17 But from everlasting to everlasting
    the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,
    and his righteousness with their children’s children—
    18 with those who keep his covenant
    and remember to obey his precepts.

    19 The Lord has established his throne in heaven,
    and his kingdom rules over all.

    20 Praise the Lord, you his angels,
    you mighty ones who do his bidding,
    who obey his word.
    21 Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts,
    you his servants who do his will.
    22 Praise the Lord, all his works
    everywhere in his dominion.

    Praise the Lord, my soul.

  • 200 Stab Wounds

    Send us Fan Mail

    200 STAB WOUNDS will hit the road this August for a North American headlining tour. The Manual Manic Procedures Tour kicks off on August 16th in Houston, Texas, and wraps up on September 10th in Ottawa, Ontario. Supporting acts include Balmora, Upon Stone, and Stabbing. Following this tour, the band will join Nails for ten dates, culminating in a performance at this year’s New England Metal And Hardcore Fest in Worcester, Massachusetts. Afterwards, they will play four more shows with Alluvial, Torture, and Killing Pace. This fall, 200 STAB WOUNDS will devastate stages across Europe with Gatecreeper and Enforced.

    Manual Manic Procedures, the highly anticipated new album from Cleveland death metal titans 200 STAB WOUNDS, is out today via Metal Blade Records!

    Following their acclaimed debut, 2021’s Slave To The Scalpel, Manual Manic Procedures delivers a brutal dose of old-school death metal with a modern twist. This album is not for the faint-hearted and is poised to reinstate classic gore-themed ferocity into the metal community’s consciousness. The album’s cover art graphically depicts radical surgery on a possibly conscious individual, signaling the intense nature of the record. Expect no punches pulled, just relentless, blood-soaked death metal.

    The tracks on Manual Manic Procedures are NSFW, possibly unsafe anywhere. This dark charm stands out in a world where even heavy music can play it too safe. 200 STAB WOUNDS has crafted this album for thrill-seekers, carnage cravers, horror fans, and extreme metal enthusiasts. Above all, Manual Manic Procedures is set to become a future death metal classic.

    In celebration of the album’s release, the band has dropped a video for “Gross Abuse.”

    Vocalist/guitarist Steve Buhl explains, “‘Gross Abuse’ is a straightforward death metal torture song. It's heavy, groovy, and brutally simple, so the lyrics had to match. It’s your typical torture-murder-death metal track about killing someone.”
