  • The World People / 2.1 Ray's on TV

From their new mobile studio, the Winneraygo, the Barone Boys share what they’ve been up to since the Season 1 finale and commit to keeping their personal lives off mic. Then, it’s back to business with a scene-by-scene breakdown of Season 2, Episode 1, “Ray’s on TV”! Along the way, they touch on the aspect ratio (important!), the antigravity opening, and get hung up on Kevin again. Plus, Adam embraces the RV lifestyle, Alex flirts with politics, and Mike screams at us about Howie Rose.

    Episode talk starts at 26:58.

  • The Big Prank / 1.22 Why Are We Here?

Eager to pull the Big Prank, the Barone Boys flip the format and dive right into the Season 1 finale of Everybody Loves Raymond, “Why Are We Here?” As they break down the episode, they discuss the little guy who played Death, St. John’s University, and the space behind the stairs (again). Then, it’s time for the auction winner to arrive and press the button that will solve all of our problems. Who will it be? Will Duane Reade’s fireworks do the job? Will the Tower of Jokers be launched into space before they can recruit God and prank the world? Find out all this and more on the thrilling season finale of Everybody Loves Everybody Loves Raymond!

  • Oscar the Mayor / 1.21 Fascinatin' Debra

The mayor of Lynbrook, now firmly in the Jokers’ pockets, sends the Barone Boys a cease and desist. Thoroughly galled, they muckrake the mayor’s unfree and unfair elections, discover the Jokers’ ultimate goal, and tee up the endgame. After sharing the details of their hectic lives, they break down Season 1, Episode 21 of Everybody Loves Raymond, because that’s what this show is about. As they go scene-by-scene through “Fascinatin’ Debra,” they learn about Desmond Howard, recall some of Debra’s PR work for the Lynbrook Turtles, and issue a new challenge for listeners and their friends. Plus, Adam is disgusted, Alex has no liquidity, and Mike tells us about a wedding he went to.

    Episode talk starts at 23:45.

  • Duane "The Paine" Reade / 1.20 Neighbors

Impractical Jokers Tower is climbing higher and higher across the street from the Barone Zone, so before the deep dive into “Neighbors,” first floor tenant Duane Reade comes by to air his grievances, describe his merchandise, and drop off some supplies for the Big Prank. After that, the Barone Boys break down Season 1, Episode 20 scene by scene, read multiple IMDb pages to cover the episode’s guest cast, and make Mike answer questions about Vatican II. Plus, Adam pronounces Treme wrong, Alex reflects on being dead, and Mike reveals the shocking cause of his breakup with Murrie.

    Episode talk starts at 24:00.

  • So I'm Smelling Steak / 1.19 The Dog (w/ Valerie Blain)

In an extreme return to form, the Barone Boys finally notice that something hasn’t been quite right with Alex since (our) episode 1.12, and call in some supernatural help from Theresa Caputo, the Long Island Medium. After taking care of paranormal business, Theresa asks our dear friend Valerie Blain (they have the same secretary!) to return to the Barone Zone to help the hosts break down Season 1, Episode 19 of Everybody Loves Raymond. As they go scene by scene through “The Dog,” they talk quite a bit about Tonya Harding, remind Mike about Lynbrook’s Father Joe communing from half court, and put another notch on the things-cost-$2000 counter. Plus, Val steps in as our Religion Guy, Adam tells us about his own personal Patience Cleveland, Alex finally gets a chance to talk Titleist, and Mike breaks down Art Shamsky (again).

    Episode talk starts at 20:30.

  • Don't Mention the Barone Zone / 1.18 Recovering Pessimist (w/ ELR's Steve Skrovan)

Everybody Loves Raymond writer/producer Steve Skrovan graciously talks to the Barone Boys about his time on the show and the story behind “Recovering Pessimist,” as well as some stories about the writing process, working with Larry David on Seinfeld, and having athletes as guest stars. Wow!

After that, the friends try to remain accessible to any new listeners by doing a thoroughly normal scene by scene breakdown of Season 1, Episode 18. Along the way, they feel sorry for Robert, feel sorry for Ray, and most of all, feel sorry for that poor girl trying to practice her dog sledding on Long Island. Finally, they wrap the episode up the only way they know how - by rating Ray’s performance on the Baronmeter.

Episode talk starts at 25:59, but why would you skip ahead on this one?

Steve will be launching a Substack soon, where he’ll share new jokes and more of his amazing stories - keep an eye on his Twitter (@skrocentral) for news about that! • DHOP / 1.17 The Game

Before breaking down Season 1, Episode 17 of Everybody Loves Raymond, the Barone Boys face some moral quandaries in a round of Scruples, realize they have no choice but to devote a BarONUS episode to a listener’s Raymembrance, and reveal the new tenant of the 48th floor of the Barone Zone. Then, they go scene by scene through “The Game,” discussing Beaches, Barnaby Jones, and the most controversial topic in ELR fandom: Gianni and the cable guy. Plus, Adam plays nearly a full minute of Jennifer Lee’s cover of “The Inchworm,” Alex wonders if Robert planned Galoshgate all along, and Mike falls victim to misinformation.

No time for nonsense? Episode talk starts exactly at 24:58.

We thank @FoldableHuman on Twitter for this 2019 thread of Scruples cards, we thank Ali Haddi for sending in a Raymembrance (BarONUS soon!), and we thank all of you for listening! Then, they go scene-by-scene through “Diamonds,” and along the way, learn all about Barry Bonds, nail down the year Ray and Debra got married, and give Ray props for some great physical comedy. Plus, Adam takes the time to explain what a Raymembrance is, Alex burns Ray to the ground, and Mike plays Baker in the Mineshaft with his new flame.

This week, host of High School Slumber Party and Uncle Francis’s Wine Cellar, Mets fan, and new friend Brian Rodriguez enters the Barone Zone to help the hosts break down Season 1, Episode 15 of Everybody Loves Raymond. They discuss Brian’s history with the TGIF lineup, which sitcom characters he’d like to see hook up, and watching failed pilots with a glass of Bordeaux. Then, they’re #Pumped to delve into “The Car,” covering that Bee Gees soundalike, Lisa Constantine’s powerful name, and how the ’72 Valiant made it into the Barone Zone. Plus, Brian shares our first-ever RAY SIGHTING, Adam reveals what his car is worth, Alex teases an antigravity opening, and Mike is in repose.
