Jesus is taking some time to encourage his friends and prepare them for His leaving. And by encouraging them I mean reminding them that they are going to be persecuted, and lose some stuff along the way… I promise you, it sounds better when He says it!

I would say that Jesus has spent a pretty decent amount of time with the disciples, and what do you know? They still don’t understand Him. Jesus is about to leave for good and leave them to tell the whole world about Jesus, and they still don’t fully understand Him. But why isn’t this worrying Him? Is it possible that He knows something we don’t?

Jesus is spending his final moments with his disciples. And Judas is scheming, being a very sneaky boy. He’s about to leave to betray Jesus but not before Jesus can do something very shocking…
