The moment Shazli Kojak (she/her) found out she was pregnant, she read every book she could get her hands on about sleep training. After constantly being told that she can "kiss her sleep goodbye" once her baby arrived, she became obsessed with figuring out how to not become another over-tired mom who can only dream (with her eyes open) about sleep. Making sure she and her baby would be well-rested became her top priority. While on this mission to teach her daughter healthy sleep habits, she decided to get a certification in the field so that she can help other moms do the same.

One eighth grade afternoon, a bully on the bus was worse to Laurel S. Peterson (she/her) than usual, so she went home and wrote a story of revenge in her journal. What satisfaction to leave her bleeding (on paper, of course!) on the playground. Thus was born her career as a mystery writer. In college, Laurel majored in psychology, fascinated by what motivates us (or doesn’t). After college, she tested the waters in advertising, catering, retail, and sales, salting away character details in her journals. Then, she did an MFA and entered the world of academic politics, where she currently resides writing poetry and mysteries, and grading papers. Her book Shadow Notes is the first in the Clara Montague Mysteries.

A native of Louisville, Ellen Birkett Morris is the author of LOST GIRLS, a short story collection, and two poetry chapbooks SURRENDER and ABIDE. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Fiction from Queens University - Charlotte. Born in San Francisco and raised in Beijing, Julia Xu (she/her) is a hybrid of both cultures and carries a global perspective. In the past, Julia worked as Chief of Staff for Alibaba North America and has expertise in the Chinese market. Before Alibaba, Julia was a Strategic Planning Analyst at the Walt Disney Company's Corporate Strategy team. She even built the global financial model for Disney+! Michelle Ruiz Keil (she/her) is a writer and tarot reader with an eye for the enchanted and a way with animals. Her critically acclaimed debut novel, All of Us With Wings, called "...a transcendent journey" by the New York Times and "...a fantastical ode the Golden City's post-punk era" by Entertainment Weekly, was released from Soho Teen in 2019. A San Francisco Bay Area native, Michelle has lived in Portland Oregon for many years where she lives with her family in a cottage where the forest meets the city. Her new book, Summer in the City of Roses just came out this past summer.

McKenna Mansfield (she/her) is a newly married wedding photographer living by the coast with her husband and their chocolate lab, Porter. She loves meeting new people and hearing their stories. The ocean is her favorite thing, as well as soft and golden sunlight, earth tones, and connecting with new people.
