The Beacons Are Lit: A Lord of the Rings Podcast

In this episode of The Beacons Are Lit: A Lord of the Rings Podcast we cover the events following the Council of Elrond up until the Fellowship’s escape from Moria (or most of the Fellowship anyway). We talk about Gimli hyping up Moria for days and then doing nothing to help open the door, the old wizard weather fight, how much Saruman loves to talk to monologue to himself, how quick Aragorn is to pull out the pipe, and much more. If you will be in the Philly area and are looking for something to do on Valentine’s weekend we have our always popular Improvised Rom-Coms from Not Yet Rated! Shows are on February 13th and 14th in Center City Philly. Grab a bite and then come laugh it up with us.

In this episode of The Beacons Are Lit: A Lord of the Rings Podcast we talk about the Council of Elrond. Only the Council of Elrond. In addition to actually discussing the this great scene, we spend too much time talking about Viggo’s “it has no other master” line, discuss the various pronunciations of Morrrdorrr Boromir’s continued weird behavior, and much more. Rate and review. What say you? If you will be in the Philly area and are looking for something to do on Valentine’s weekend we have our always popular Improvised Rom-Coms from Not Yet Rated! In this episode of The Beacons Are Lit: A Lord of the Rings Podcast we talk about events immediately following leaving Bree to just before the Council of Elrond. What is elevensies? Was that one Ring Wraith trying to sneak off? Why didn’t Elrond end this mess 3,000 years ago? These and many other questions are posed and not really answered. Here’s a link to a 90’s Sitcom Intro I found for Lord of the Rings using the Family Matters format and here’s a great one using Friends. In this episode of The Beacons Are Lit: A Lord of the Rings Podcast we talk about events from Frodo and Sam seeing the wood elves on up until Strider makes his debut and saves the hobbits. We also discuss such important things as Saruman’s cleaning habits, Aragon’s choice of introduction, if the ring would fit on E.T.’s finger, and much more. We planned on covering more but just can’t talk enough about LOTR and we wanted to keep these close to an hour from here on out. Happy New Year! The Beacons are Lit is a Lord of the Rings Podcast discussing all things Middle-Earth including the films, upcoming Amazon Prime series, and more. What we lack in extensive Tolkien knowledge we make up for in humor and passion. If you enjoy LOTR you will enjoy us enjoying LOTR too. Features Mike Marbach (host), Kelly Conrad, Matt Garren, and Stacie Lyons.

This second episode of The Beacons Are Lit: A Lord of the Rings Podcast covers the first 45 minutes of the extended edition of the Fellowship of the Ring. We discuss the prologue that almost wasn’t, Gandalf arriving precisely when he means to, Bilbo’s speech preparation, Gandalf’s trip to the library, and the first steps of Frodo and Sam out of the Shire. We greatly underestimated how much we would have to say about every little moment. In coming episodes we will try to keep things to an hour (probably by shortening how much we cover). We will be back soon with our Part 2 of the Fellowship of the Ring. Happy Holidays! The Beacons are Lit is a Lord of the Rings Podcast discussing all things Middle-Earth including the films, upcoming Amazon Prime series, and more.
