  • 204. Stop asking HOW
What if you don't actually need another answer?
We spend so much time asking how. How do I become more confident? How do I get healthier? How do I grow the business? How do I fix the relationship? How do I stop procrastinating? How do I finally change?
Sometimes we genuinely need information. But sometimes asking how becomes a sophisticated way of avoiding what we already know.
In this episode of The Becoming You Show, we're looking at the uncomfortable gap between knowing and doing—and the point where more information stops being preparation and starts becoming protection.
Because you may not need to know the entire path. You may simply need to ask a different question:
Who do I need to be to do what I already know?
We'll talk about why insight isn't transformation, why confidence requires evidence, and what happens when you stop waiting for the perfect plan and start practicing the identity you're trying to become.
Maybe you don't need the whole how.
Maybe you already know enough to take the next step.

    Giveaways:
    · Maybe you don't need more information. Maybe you need a place to practice becoming the person who uses what she already knows.

That's what we're doing inside Inner Lab.

This month, we're working on confidence—not as something you either have or don't have, but as something you can build through practice, behavior, and evidence.

      A place to get coached.
A place to stop collecting answers and start applying them.
A place to practice trusting yourself.
A place to turn what you know into how you actually live.

      Because insight matters.

But eventually, insight has to survive Tuesday.

You don't need to know everything to have your own back. You need to trust yourself enough to take the next step.

  • 203. I Understand
What if two simple words could change the way you experience other people?
    I understand.
Not I agree. Not I approve. Not you're right and I'm wrong. And definitely not the passive-aggressive version of “I understand” that is really just waiting for its turn to argue.
In this episode of The Becoming You Show, we're exploring the powerful pause those two words can create—the space between what someone does and everything we immediately decide it means.
Because the truth is, you probably do understand.
You've been scared. You've been overwhelmed. You've reacted instead of responded. You've made decisions you wouldn't make today. You've needed someone to understand that there was more happening in your life than what they could see.
Most people are navigating something hard. We simply don't know what it is.
Understanding that doesn't make everything someone does approveworthy. It doesn't move the boundary, erase the expectation, excuse the broken agreement, or require you to abandon yourself.
It simply allows you to remember the human being before deciding what is yours to do next.
And maybe that's one of the deepest forms of confidence: being secure enough to say,
I understand you. And I still understand me.

    Giveaways:
    · Having your own back doesn't mean defending yourself against everything.

Sometimes confidence looks like being secure enough to pause.

      To listen.

      To understand.

To apologize when something is yours.

To hold the boundary when that's yours.

And to let another person be human without making their humanity a threat to yours.

That's what we're working on this month inside Inner Lab.

We're exploring what confidence really is, what it isn't, and how self-confidence becomes something you practice—not something you wait to feel.

      A place to get coached.
A place to practice having your own back.
A place to become more confident in the conversations, decisions, relationships, and life you're actually living.

Because you don't have to choose between compassion for someone else and clarity for yourself.

You can understand them and still understand you.

  • 202. The Reunion
What if the judgment you're afraid of isn't actually coming from anyone else?
In this episode of The Becoming You Show, we're talking about the stories we carry into rooms with us and how often we assume other people see us through the same lens we use to see ourselves.
From reunions and relationships to meetings, friendships, parenting, and social situations, we explore the psychology behind the spotlight effect, why we overestimate how much other people notice about us, and what happens when our own insecurities become opinions we unknowingly assign to everyone else.
Because sometimes we're not actually afraid of what someone else thinks.
We're afraid they'll confirm what we already think about ourselves.
You'll leave this episode with three questions: What have you decided other people believe about you? What do you believe about yourself that you're afraid someone else might confirm? And who would you be in the room if you stopped managing everyone's perception of you?
Maybe confidence isn't walking into the room believing everyone thinks you're amazing.
Maybe it's knowing you can have your own back without knowing what anyone thinks at all.

    Giveaways:
    · COME TO THE LAB

You don’t need everyone else to believe in you. You need to learn how to believe in—and back—yourself.

So much of our energy gets spent trying to manage what other people think of us. We explain. We prove. We perform. We shrink. We adjust.

But self-confidence isn’t built by finally getting everyone else’s approval.

**It’s built by learning how to have your own back without needing it.**

That’s what we’re working on inside **Inner Lab** this month.

      A place to get coached.
A place to question the stories you’ve been carrying.
A place to build confidence from the inside out.
A place to practice trusting yourself—even when you can’t control what anyone else thinks.

Because the goal isn’t to walk into every room knowing they’ll like you.

**It’s to walk into the room knowing you won’t leave yourself while you’re there.**

  • 201. Give yourself a chance
What if the confidence you're waiting for can only be built by doing the thing you're waiting to feel confident enough to do?
In this episode of The Becoming You Show, we're talking about what it really means to give yourself a chance...not by pretending circumstances aren't hard or guaranteeing you'll succeed, but by creating the conditions that make change possible.
We'll explore the difference between having a valid reason and creating a life you actually want, why action often has to come before confidence, and how small “mastery experiences” can create new evidence about who you are and what you're capable of.
You'll walk away with three questions to consider: Where are you asking for an outcome you haven't created the conditions for? What are you waiting to feel before you allow yourself to act? And what evidence about yourself could you create, not discover over the next 30 days?
Because self-confidence isn't knowing you're going to win. It's knowing you'll have your own back while you find out.
Maybe you don't need to believe in yourself all the way yet.
Maybe you just need to give yourself a chance.

  • 200. What was this for?
This is episode two hundred. And the honest thing I noticed looking back at all of them is that most of what I've talked about here is adding. Build this, learn this, become this. Which I stand behind. But the biggest changes in my own life didn't come from anything I added. They came from what I put down.
So for the two hundredth one, we're closing the clutter series by doing the opposite of what this show usually does. We're subtracting.
One question, pointed at four places. What was this for? Past tense, on purpose, because there was almost always a good reason once. The only question is whether that reason is still alive.
Your habits, and why the closet keeps filling back up. Your calendar, still booked for a season that ended. Your phone, the junk drawer you carry with you. And then your house, saved for last, because the house was never the problem. The house is the receipt.
Plus the fifteen-minute practice that works on a drawer, an app, a commitment, or a story you've been telling about yourself.
In this episode: why nobody ever decided to build that drawer. The difference between being undisciplined and being extremely disciplined at a life you no longer live. Why we don't quit things, we just get worse at them. And the two questions that make up the actual audit: what do I want to keep doing, and what do I want to stop.
The clearing isn't the goal. What grows in it is.

  • 199. Did you get their signature?
Week one the clutter was in your head. Week two it was in your body. This week it has a face, and it might be somebody sitting at your table this weekend.
Here's the claim: unconditional love is what a relationship looks like with the clutter out of it. Love with nothing attached. No terms, no list of things that have to be true first. And most of us are nowhere close to that.
Episode 199 goes looking for the conditions. Every one of us carries an unwritten rulebook for how the people we love ought to behave. If he loved me, he'd notice. A good son calls on Sunday. We measure people against it. We get genuinely hurt when they break a rule in it. They never signed it. Most of them have never seen a page.
But the deeper piece is this. Your love is not something that gets handed to you. Nobody delivers it, nobody can put it inside you. The love you feel is the love you generate. Which means a condition is really a rule about when you'll allow yourself to feel love. And it means you're the one going without while you wait for somebody to meet terms they don't know exist.
In this episode: why we install conditions in the first place, and why the requirement always moves. The difference between an unwritten rule and a broken promise. Four ways to hear your own conditions, including the one nobody catches. And what to do when somebody in your life genuinely isn't going to change.
This isn't an episode about boundaries and it isn't telling you to stay. You can love somebody and still leave. What we're after is the judgment you're carrying in order to love them at all.
