If you are anything like me; you may have been taught, directed, guided…whichever word you like to use, to do or NOT to do certain things.

That because you are a particular gender, race, come from a certain people and/or culture, there are just some things you DO NOT DO!!

Well I am here to just hit on a couple I was personally told and how despite these TABOOS, I was capable of making my own decisions and took actions which have led to my three babies AND my peace of mind!

So jump on in with me and share with me any taboos that have tried to be placed on you :)

As we continue to really look into the core of our B.E.I.N.G.; determining our hopes, dreams and aspirations; and giving ourselves permission to go after them…this week I challenge you to believe that the time is NOW to take action.

Whether it is fear, lack of finances, or lack of support we tend to find a “reason” to not move forward in creating the life we want, need and deserve.

Well I am here to tell you that the time truly is now to start making the moves, to start taking the steps to realize all you are purposed and called to be.

If you are like me, it is easier to use the current situations as a means to remain still…but if you are also like me, you are not comfortable nor content to remain in this space.

So let’s support, encourage, inspire, and motivate each other as we work towards achieving our goals. Not only for ourselves, but for our families, communities, and other incredible women who have yet to step out on their journeys.

The Time is NOW!

Hey lady, yes you! I have a few questions for you, if you’re game?

Are you truly living in your truth? In your purpose and/or calling?

Have you determined who you truly desire to be or what your passions are?

Are you living out any of the dreams the younger version of yourself had? Better yet do you remember them?

If you answered no to any, or all, of these perhaps the ultimate question is, “Who, or what, are you waiting on for permission?”

I get it, life happens. We grow up, start our careers, get married and start our families, and can’t say NO to anyone…yet when it comes to living in our purpose we seem to stall as though we need permission to address ourselves, our wants, desires and needs.

Well sis, it’s time to for us to 1. Forgive ourselves, 2. Give ourselves permission and validation we need, and 3. Get on with it because people need us…and yes we need ourselves!

I challenge you to do something TODAY for you, that you give yourself the permission to do without the side dish of guilt.

I am also here to remind, or tell you, that we are incapable of pouring from an empty cup. So do the thing that will inspire, encourage, motivate and fill you up! Chocolate, massages, meditation…or whatever lights you up and gets you going, you deserve it!

This week I continue to dive into setting the intentions of finding out who we are at the core of our BEING and what is it we desire, want, and need.

The challenge now I have for us all is…Betting on Ourselves to make those desires, wants, and needs come to fruition.

If you’re anything like me, there is a level of “comfort” or “security” attempting to get the buy-in and validation of those around us; but Warrior Woman we are phenomenal! We already possess numerous talents and gifts, we just need to seek, gain and grow our own validation so we can accomplish what we want and more.

Yes it is wonderful to have acquired the titles we have dreamt about: wife, mother, entrepreneur…and on and on. However; as we continue down this road of “wife-ing, mom-ing, and work-ing” have we lost sight of who we are?

Have we put the younger versions of ourselves in a corner to sit and color meanwhile forgetting about her and the dreams she had?

I say it’s time to challenge ourselves…forgiving ourselves if needed and then get to BE-ING who we have been called and chosen to be.

I wanted to take a moment to introduce, and re-introduce, myself to you amazing people who have stopped by to listen to me.

I will admit to being “that” girl who dreamt about growing up, reaching both personal educational and professional goals, and YES being married 💍. I had great role models of what marriage looked like in my parents and my maternal grandparents, so it was definitely a goal I had to attain. It’s funny how society, media, and even our family and friends can influence us to think we should be married by the ripe old age of 30 and soon after the kids should be arriving. While my path didn’t go completely like that, I have been blessed to have my husband of two days shy of 10 years as of today 🥰, and three amazing babies from our union have come along! I will admit this is my favorite episode of this season because the love of my life joined me in the hopes inspiring those who will listen.

While there are some who believe that Balance doesn’t exist, I think that there are ways that we are able to create routines and systems that can lead to feeling in balance.

It is true that we can’t be in more than once place at a time, but we are able to be fully present where we are, if we are able and willing to create and lean on our villages of support.

Forgiving and releasing ourselves from the guilt we feel will also allow for balance to created.
