Welcome to the Best is Yet to Come with Pastor Brad Morgan. This week's message is about combating the enemy through the Spirit of Deborah. Everyone that has trusted Christ has an annointing on the inside of them.  This is a great thing, but it also makes you a target for the enemy. In the previous verses, David who had a great annointing from God was a target of the enemy. But David was willing to ask God for guidance and protection. Whenever we have a battle, God's intention is not to recover what we have lost, but it is also to recover spoil of the battle. 

The enemy is persistant but God has prepared a plan for you. Joshua 24:12 speaks of a hornet that goes before you to drive out the enemy. Judges 5:1-3, 7 says,“When leaders lead in Israel, When the people willingly offer themselves, Bless the Lord! “Hear, O kings! Give ear, O princes! I, even I, will sing to the Lord; I will sing praise to the Lord God of Israel. Village life ceased, it ceased in Israel, ... Until I, Deborah, arose,

Arose a mother in Israel.

God is raising up the Spirit of Deborah. The Spirit of Deborah begins to cause an order. It just not just stand for women, it respresents and generational leadership issue. Breakthrough is coming, and maybe not through whom you think it will come, it is coming through the willing.  The generation of Deborah is those who won't shrink back. Resist the spirit of fear and embrace the spirit of power, love and a sound mind.

And David heard of it and went down to the stronghold. The Philistines also went and deployed themselves in the Valley of Rephaim. 19 So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand? And the Lord said to David, “Go up, for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into your hand.” (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+samuel+5%3A17-25&version=NKJV). This in indeed the Lord working it out! The enemy wnat to take you out, but David inquired of the Lord what to do and the Lord was there to help him. God is much more clever and powerful than the enemy, and sometimes He will do a "sneak attack."

God's willingness and ability to help us is exemplified in 2 Chronicles 32:7-8 where it says: “Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that is with him; for there are more with us than with him. With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people were strengthened by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah. God will help us in some situations, and in other situations God will fight the battle for us. God will also help you through others in the body of Christ.

Pastor Brad continues by explaining how God offers help through the proper marital relationship -- husband and wife helping each other. In Genesis 2:18 it says, "And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
