Relebogile had a chat with one of the organisers of the Breaking Down Borders Africa Youth Summit, Chris Vuba. 

The Summit is a platform to commemorate Africa Month through engagements with established leaders, young African leaders and government under the theme ‘Youth Collaboration – towards a shared prosperous Africa’.

The Summit is hosting a contingent of 60 youth leaders, with half of them coming from various African countries such as Nigeria, Senegal, Kenya and Ghana.

Relebogile had a chat with Moipone Moropa, mother of little Phenyo Moropa who was born on March the 7th 2016 with a rare birth defect called Tibial Hemimelia, Moipone wants to raise awareness around this very rare birth defect, she is also raising funds for a surgery that could get Little Phenyo walking.

Relebogile was joined in studio by Reach for a Dream Foundation CEO, Julia Sotirianakos to chat about their 7th Annual Slipper Day which is taking place today.

Instead of the usual Slipper Day stickers, this year the Reach For A dream Foundation has teamed up with DJ Fresh, Carrol Boyes, Roxy Burger, Lira and Gert-Johan Coetzee to design a special “strength, hope and courage” wristband, which entitles the wearer to don slippers to work or school today.

Relebogile had a chat with Nthabeleng Nhlapo, Founder of Afrokids Salon about venturing into business and her inspiration behind a kiddies salon with an engaging and educational environment for the little ones. 

As a mother Nthabeleng identified a gap in the market. She had been sitting on this idea for a very long time and finally with the inspiration drawn from her own brothers who run their own carpentry business she decided to take a risk and open Afrokids in Rivonia.

Relebogile had a chat with Daddy Khuselo, an electrical Engineer by profession turned inspirational speaker, training facilitator & strategist about his recently launched book titled “The Rivonia Junction”

The book is an inspirational, insightful memoir, it brings about the path Daddy took in overcoming a very difficult childhood characterized by poverty, financial struggle and poor living conditions.

Relebogile had a chat with Nadine Nunan, Scientific Affairs and Education Manager at 3M Health Care about the amazing role that nurses or health workers play in our society as 12 May marks International Nurses Day.

International Nurses Day is celebrated every year around the world on the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth on May 12th 

The theme for 2017 is Nursing: A voice to lead – Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

On the Early Breakfast show this morning Relebogile spoke to Katarina Hedren , Festival Director of the European Film Festival which currently underway nationwide about some of the highligts and what we can expect from the Festival this year. 

The European Film Festival, opened nationwide on the 5th of May 2017 at Cinema Nouveau and is running concurrently in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pretoria and Durban until 14th of May. 

Relebogile had a chat with Interview Robert Andrew who is an Entrepreneur, motivational speaker & ex-professional rugby player about his personal journey and struggles and how he managed to deal with his dyslexia, parent’s divorce and being on the verge of bankruptcy.

On the Early Breakfast show this morning Gushwell Brooks spoke to Mabutho Mthembu, Executive Chairman of the Youth Managers Foundation about their 3rd Annual Career & Mentorship Day taking place in Soweto on the May the 13th. 

Youth Managers Foundation (“YMF”) identified a gap in the education sector, in terms of which, the youth from disadvantaged schools/backgrounds are faced with structural challenges that profoundly impact on their ability to unleash their true potential and achieve their dreams.

Wardah Hartley, a national TV sports presenter and creator of lifestyle and fitness blog - Fabufit.co.za has teamed up with registered dietitian Nathalie Mat to create South Africa’s first fitness and nutrition guide for pregnant women.
