The Best Soccer Show

On a special episode of TBSS, Jason Davis welcomes our social media manager Morgan Tencza while Jared is on vacation and Nicky Soup & Sausage is out sick. The show must go one because there is some BIG news in the USMNT world. After months of anticipation, Ricardo Pepi finally made his move to the Bundesliga with Augsburg swooping in before Wolfsburg could seal the deal - is moving to a club battling relegation really the right move for the young USMNT star? Plus, Daryl Dike makes his long awaited return to the Championship with West Bromwich - will he help the club get promoted to the Premier League? Finally, it’s 2022 and you know what that means: WORLD CUP YEAR!! We discuss if the TBSS family is mentally prepared for it and what the USMNT needs to do to set themselves to bring the trophy home.

On the final The Best Soccer Show of 2021, Jason Davis and Jared DuBois take a look back at a very busy year for the USMNT that was capped off with an uneventful win against Bosnia and Herzegovina. First, it was a weird lineup Friday night and an early red card for the opponent made it tough to take too much away from this match for the USMNT. After winning the Concacaf Nations League and the Gold Cup, would you consider 2021 a success for the USMNT? Finally, should Pulisic move to Barcelona and which American is most likely to play for Wrexham AFC (Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s non-league club).

Thanks to all the Besties for an incredible 2021!

Plus, Gregg Berhalter released the USMNT December roster and it features a lot of the younger talent. The guys pick their most fun, interesting lineups and look at some of the snubs. Finally, The Timbers and NYCFC are set to battle for MLS Cup in Portland next week after each won their respective Conference Finals this weekend.

Jason and Jared discuss the latest in USMNT news from the week that was. Weston McKennie started off the week making headlines for his pizza conversation with Giogio Chiellini and ended the week leaving Juventus’ match with a knock. Christian Pulisic finally looks healthy at Chelsea and has put together a couple of nice games against Juventus and Manchester United - should Gregg consider playing Christian as a false 9? Finally, the USMNT announced where the next matches will take place and an uninspiring World Cup kit leaked.

The guys are back on a Sunday night to react to all things American soccer from the past week. Sergino Dest looked saucy in El Clasico, should he be our starting RW against Mexico next World Cup Qualifying match? Plus, the Ricardo Pepi transfer rumors are heating up with RB Salzburg, Ajax & Wolfsburg all in the mix - which would be the best situation for the young American? Finally, the MLS salaries were released this week and you’ll never guess who the highest paid Americans in the league are.
