Brent shares his story about drug and alcohol addiction which started from a young age and only seeking help at the age of 35. He shares the times he attempted to end it all so he could stop the pain. Now 3 years off drugs Brent runs The Black Dog community where men can feel safe in expressing their feelings without any judgement and in return receive positive helpful feedback. Brent's mission is to reduce the suffering and fight back to help those in need.

I'll be honest that I had my doubts about whether Corey could've got the job done and beat this record just like many would have aswell. This is episode 57 of The Betar Project with special guest Lauren McDonough.  

Lauren was born with a full functioning body until May 2017 at the age of just 19 she felt like no one cared or could help with her mental health and that the only way out was to end it all. That day she was hit by a train loosing one leg completely at the scene and a fractured spine. Amazingly enough she survived without any brain damage but now the real battle was to begin, a month later her other leg died off which had to then be amputated leaving Lauren a bi-lateral amputee. She has had a lot of complications with prosthetic legs and the overall mental strain of coming to terms with it all. One thing Lauren said which is amazing is that she believed she had survived for a reason and it was her time to try turn her life around and prove people wrong.  

Lauren is honestly such a inspiration to me and I'm sure others, every day she has to work so much harder for the things majority of us take for granted. So grateful for her coming on and sharing her story and I cant wait for you all to listen.

February 7th Katrina and myself attended the Men's Medicine Couples Workshop.  

This was totally out of our comfort zone and we didn't know what to expect. But it was honestly a great day which I believe opened up and helped our relationship. Would highly recommended any couple attend this event even if you are in a good spot there is always room for growth. Thankyou to Lino, Sarah, Luke, Frank and Taylor who ran the event you guys were awesome and made us feel very comfortable.

Trigger Warning* this episode we talk about Domestic Violence and the mental/physical effects it has on people.  

Super grateful to have Tiarna on as I know it would take a lot of courage to talk about what happened to her. The sad reality is that 2.2  Million Australians have experienced physical and/or sexual violence from a partner and 3.6 Million have experienced emotional abuse. There needs to be a stop to this and more education around this topic.   

If you are in a Domestic Violence Relationship you are not alone, you can leave and you need to find the courage to leave before it's too late. I hope by sharing Tiarna's story it can help people in the same situation get out.
