Do you wish cooking felt less like a chore and more like a way to connect? In this episode, I chat with Brittany Meadth of This Moment in Thyme to talk about all things cooking—from meal prep and easy weeknight dinners to cooking with kids and making meals a joyful experience. From struggling to make boxed mac and cheese to teaching approachable, community-minded cooking classes, Brittany’s story will inspire even the most cooking adverse.
Brittany shares advice on how you can host stress-free dinner parties, ways you can make guests feel right at home, and why it’s important for everyone in the family to help out at dinner time. She discusses favorite recipes and which go-to dish impresses people time and time again (and it’s easy to make)!

We all know the weight of words—how they can lift someone up or drag them down. In this episode, I flip the usual advice of "don’t talk badly about someone" and instead focus on why we should speak about others…kindly. Whether it’s behind their back or (preferably) to their face, we should try to share more of our positive thoughts and compliments.
I share personal stories of moments when a simple compliment or comment seemingly shifted someone’s day (and/or confidence), and how being intentional about spreading kindness can create real change. We never truly know what others are going through, and, sometimes, the smallest words of encouragement can make the biggest difference.

Heidi Clements never set out to be an influencer, but after one viral TikTok, she became a much-needed voice for women over 50. Heidi uses outfit-of-the-day videos and thought-provoking voiceovers to share stories about herself and other women. Her goal is to change the way women are treated and viewed as they age – especially in their later decades.
In this episode, we dive into societal expectations, why she refuses to become invisible, and why “anti” should never be paired with aging. Plus, Heidi shares insights on her writing and blogging career, Santa Barbara living, and what truly matters to her.

For years, I was reluctant about going to therapy and seeing a therapist consistently. That all ended this past year when I decided that I was finally ready to work more on my mental health and pursue professional guidance. I discuss how I truly believe that the practice of therapy has gone from taboo to encouraged and supported in only a couple of decades.
In this episode, I get extra personal about my therapy journey — what finally led me to start, how I feel after a session, why it’s not always comfortable, and how it’s been one of the most transformational and positive experiences for me. From setting boundaries and breaking people-pleasing habits to unpacking family dynamics and recognizing unhelpful patterns, therapy has given me countless tools for my present and future life.

Who knew that you just needed some studio lighting to see yourself in a completely new light? I chat with the incredible Jess Fairchild, a boudoir photographer who has made it her mission to empower women through her photography. Jess has captured women from all different ages, life stages, and body types.
I share my recent experience shooting with her for my very first boudoir shoot. Spoiler alert: it was an absolute blast, and I already want to do it again. I walked away feeling so sexy, powerful, and confident, and I am forever obsessed with my photos.
In this episode, we discuss misconceptions about boudoir, why there’s no time like the present, and what a typical shoot day entails. You’ll learn that boudoir is so much more than sexy photos - it’s a celebration of self-love.

Welcome back to The Bets Life Podcast for Season 4! I’ve missed these conversations, and I am thrilled to bring you a fresh mix of guest interviews and more-personal-than-ever solo episodes for this 4th season!
I’m diving deeper into my own life experiences this season, and since this podcast launch coincides with Valentine’s Day week, I thought that it would be appropriate to start with a love story. My love story, of course. I know that many of you may be curious about how I met my husband, Patrick. I may be (very) biased, but it’s my favorite love story, and it involves many laughs, 2011 fashion, and a pencil-scribbled number on an essay in Boulder, CO.
This story is one that friends, friends of friends, and even strangers have retold over the years, and now I’m excited to share it with you all! Happy early Valentine’s/Galentine’s Day - wishing you all so much love this week!

I know we’re not always thrilled about the additional candles on our birthday cakes, but it really is a privilege to age. In today’s episode, I highlight the many perks of getting older and wiser and share how we can be more at peace with our advancing years. The great news is that those who have a positive mindset about aging are healthier in many ways, and, on average, live longer. This episode will encourage you to stop condemning aging and start celebrating the many blessings of your golden years.
Once again, thank you for a wonderful season three! I hope you all enjoyed listening every week. I am so grateful for the support as always!
If you have a moment, please leave a rating and review – it’s always lovely to hear from you all. See you next season!
