In this episode, I get to talk to a special niche of humanity that are both woman and wife- the wives! This is the first of the multi-episode topic where we talk about how womanhood is vital to being a wife. As common-sense as that maybe, this is the real issue where women feel lost in becoming or growing as a wife & woman. The issue of a "mis-ordered identity" is one of the greatest affect on marriages and the growth of wives as women. Questions that can pervade our minds include:
Am I a good wife or am I going to be a good wife?
Am I going to have to choose between my womanhood and being a wife?
What is my purpose & am I fulfilling it?
This episode is apart of establishing a stance regarding womanhood, being a wife and the design of it all. Let's chat through this vein of thinking and challenge each other to do the same. If we can anchor our thinking and beliefs, we can look for hope between life's most ambiguous and every shifting moments of marriage & womanhood.
Don't worry- even if you aren't a wife or have no desire to be, this episode challenges the thinking-paradigm about marriage and the beauty of womanhood.
Within this episode, I focus a great deal on the need for us to believe and fight for the anchor of identities as daughters first. Here are some verses that remind me to fight to believe this truth for myself. May they provide encourage you and other to do the same.
"But now thus says the LORD, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
3 For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I give Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in exchange for you."
"3 the LORD appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you."
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called "the uncircumcision" by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands--
12 remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,
39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
