Mark Strippel has shaped some of the biggest platforms in Asian and Black music over for the past 25 years.

Hounslow-born Mark was responsible for seminal Asian movements including Panjabi Hit Squad, Maximum NRG, Bombay Jungle and Limelight. 

As the former Head of BBC 1Xtra responsible for Rap, Dancehall and R&B he signed a new generation of talents including Kenny Allstar, Tiffany Calver, Sir Spyro, Nadia Jae, Jeremiah Asiamah, Maya Jama, Big Zuu, The Receipts and more. 

The former broadcaster also signed a new generation of young Asian talent, including Harpz Kaur, Noreen Khan, Guz Khan, Yasser and Kandman & DJ Limelight.

In a rare interview, we look deeply at the massive impact he has to the sound of the UK.
