Paul's just told us to embrace the mindset of Christ and to put our salvation to work. Now he says—"and if want a contemporary example of what this looks like—look at Timothy — look at Epaphroditus, contemporary exemplars of Christ-like service."

If God has begun a work of salvation in you, then God is calling you to put your salvation to work—right here, right now—in His church. In this study, we examine five guidelines for how you must put your salvation to work.

Having urged the church to strive together for the faith of the gospel, Paul now gives special attention the need for unity in the church. He targets the obstacle to such unity and also provides what is the ultimate example in Jesus Christ.

This is the final lesson in our series on Christology. It discussed "The Offices of Christ" as Prophet, Priest, and King.

Paul's life was about the gospel. One can hardly even think of Paul without thinking of the gospel of Christ. So as was true of his own life, Paul now charges his Christian readers to only live in a way that reflects well on the gospel.

The reader might like to know how Paul's rejoicing in the midst of his situation (his chains and the criticism he received) is not an irrational response? In this passage, Paul will give us the basis for his rejoicing. His life is a life that wins. And so is the life of anyone living for Christ.
