Before Verida, Chris co-founded Community Data Solutions, a CRM provider for non-profit organizations and government sectors, growing it to serve 150 enterprise clients across Australia. In June 2023, Chris delivered a keynote address titled, "Welcome to the API of Me," at BLOCKCHANCE 23 in Hamburg, Germany.

In this episode, host Bidemi Ologunde spoke with Hilario Itriago, the President of BOXX Insurance USA, a global insurtech with its USA headquarters in Miami, Florida. He is also the Chairman of The LATAM Insurtech, an Insurtech Accelerator platform fueled by BrokerTech Ventures.

Hilario is an experienced international Insurance professional with over 22 years in the industry having worked in markets such as the UK, the Baltics, and Latin America with RSA Insurance Group. He was Regional COO and then CEO of a $1.2 billion business with operations in 6 countries from Mexico to Argentina. He was instrumental in building capabilities that delivered a CAGR of 19.4% between 2010 and 2014, and ultimately responsible for successfully selling the Regional businesses to Grupo Suramericana of Colombia in 2016.

In late 2016 Mr. Itriago co-founded and was the CEO of Bullfrog Ventures, the first Insurtech ecosystem in Latin America, and was also the co-creator of the InsurtechMap.com developed as a Joint Venture with Chubb (NYSE: CB). Bullfrog was successfully acquired by Rokk3r Inc. in 2019, the first Latin American Insurtech sold to a Public Company (OTC: ROKK). He later joined NetBrokrs, an international Broker Network focusing on delivering digital capabilities for its members through investments in Insurtechs such as WeCover.co and Clupp.com.mx.

Hilario holds a BA from Universidad Metropolitana in Venezuela and an Advanced Certificate for Executives (ACE) in Management, Innovation and Technology from MIT Sloan School of Management.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts & Communication degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and served in the Army Reserve for 12 years, including time as a drill sergeant. He currently resides in Middleton, WI where he is hopelessly outnumbered by his wife, cat and three daughters.
