December 27, 2021A Great Week 16 Cash Week for Big DIn tonight's episode, The Big D recaps a successful Week 16 for his cash and head-to-head contests. I explain how this week proved to be the most challenging week to find studs with so many value plays. From Justin Jackson to Antonio Brown, Josh Palmer, and Ronald Jones, I explain the DK values that helped me win all my cash entries. I also explain why I have zero regrets on using James Robinson despite his season ending on a torn Achilles. I also explain how the quarterback position has been the hardest for me to find a cash passer every week....more13minPlay
December 25, 2021Christmas Eve/Week 16 Cash GamesIn tonight's Christmas Eve Episode, The Big D gives you a rundown of his favorite Week 16 cash plays. At quarterback, I like Justin Herbert, Matthew Stafford, and Jalen Hurts. With several top running backs off or likely not playing on Sunday, the main DFS slate offers value running backs. I like Alexander Mattison, James Robinson, and Ronald Jones. LA's Justin Jackson could be in play if star Austin Ekeler misses Sunday's game on the COVID-19 list. At receiver, Rams star Cooper Kupp still feels way too cheap with his incredible 2021 season. Tampa's Antonio Brown can give Tom Brady a needed weapon with so many key offensive Bucs out this Sunday in Charlotte. Jacksonville's Laquon Treadwell can also pay off his value with targets against the Jets. At tight end, several studs and values populate this position while the Eagles lead my cash defenses....more22minPlay
December 21, 2021Alex's Dolphins Trip, Dylan's Pathetic Jags, Week 15 oddities, Favorite Christmas SongIn this episode, Alex and I talk about Alex's trip to see his Miami Dolphins play the NY Jets, the Texans beating Big D's Jaguars, Week 15 oddities, and our favorite Christmas song. First, we look at Alex's Dolphins adventure, which ended in Miami's sixth straight win over the Jets. With Miami coming off a bye week, we breakdown what happened with Miami's slow start. We also look at how Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa fared despite throwing throwing two interceptions. We also look at Duke Johnson's 107-yard, two touchdown afternoon as Miami's leading rusher. We also look at DeVante Parker's strong afternoon and Miami's pass-rush. Then, we look at the Houston Texans beating Big D's Jaguars 30-16 in Jacksonville's first game since Urban Meyer's firing. We look at how Houston frustrated the Jags all afternoon. Texans receiver Brandin Cooks racked up his second 100-yard game against the Jags this season. We look back at Trevor Lawrence's continued regression in his rookie season. I also show my frustration at Tremon Smith scoring Houston's first kickoff return TD since 2009. With this loss, the Jags put themselves in position to get the No. 1 pick in next year's draft for now. Onto Week 15 oddities, we look at the 1-11-1 Detroit Lions hammering the 10-3 Arizona Cardinals. We look at what is happening with Kyler Murray and the Cards during their two-game losing streak. Then, we look at Tom Brady's first NFL shutout loss since 2006. We look back at what went wrong for the Bucs. We also look at several TB injuries, including Chris Godwin's torn ACL. We also look at Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley almost leading his team to an upset surprise over the Green Bay Packers. December 17, 2021Big D's Week 15 Favorite Cash PlaysTonight, The Big D gives you a rundown of my favorite Week 15 DFS cash plays. I also give you a rundown of my current lineup and what it would have been if not for the postponed games. First, I give you a rundown of my favorite players at each posiiton starting with Dolphins quarterback. With Miami hosting the NY Jets, Tua feels like a great value. At running back, I explain how this is one of the oddest running back slates ever. I explain with so many stars either playing last night, tomorrow, or in primetime, the running backs do not have the same appeal. I start with one of Week 15's best cash plays - Jacksonville's James Robinson. With Urban Meyer gone and Carlos Hyde out, Robinson feels like a great bet to finally help fantasy and DFS owners. With a consistent rushing and receiving upside, Steelers rookie running back Najee Harris makes my lineup. At receiver, I start with two values - Buffalo's Gabriel Davis and Miami's DeVante Parker. I then go with a target monster in Pittsburgh's Diontae Johnson, and GB's Davante Adams. At tight end, Texans rookie Brevin Jordan seems like a worthy punt play. Afterwards, I want the Dolphins defense against Jets rookie Zack Wilson. Then, I go off my entire lineup construction and how the Seahawks and Rams game being postponed chnages how this news affects my lineup....more20minPlay
December 16, 2021Big D's 2021 Golf Review with Tom JacobsIn this episode, British golf expert Tom Jacobs recap the 2021 golf season. First, we look back at which golfer enjoyed the best season. To no surprise, we both pick reigning Open Champ Collin Morikawa. we both admire Collin's consistency and ability to adapt on any course. We also like Morikawa's irons and streaky putting. Then, we look at back at golf's biggest surprise - Phil Mickelson winning the 2021 PGA Championship at age 50. I talk how Phil's age has not affected his driving power or his incredible wedge play. Tom then starts a next round of questions with 2021's biggest improver. I pick Scottie Scheffler. I talk about how many times Scheffler nearly broke through for his first PGA tour win. Tom responds with Sam Burns, who won the Valspar Championship and Sanderson Falls Championship. We also look at a few golfers, who disappointed in 2021. I start with Dustin Johnson, who did not win in America and missed two major cuts. Tom explains how DJ winning The Masters in November 2020 could have affected him this season. Tom is worried about Bubba Watson and interested to see what Justin Rose could rebound. Onto majors, we talk about one guy we feel confident winning a major. I believe 2022 will be when Xander Schauffele will finally win a major. Tom likes Norway's Victor Hovland to breakthrough at a major. We then look into what the rivalry between Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Kopeka will produce in 2022. Tom believes both golfers could look to market themselves. We look at golfers needing a big 2022. I believe Justin Thomas needs to be there at majors. JT won the 2017 PGA championship, but he needs more on his resume. Tom believes Rory Mcllroy needs another major - particularly The Masters to complete the Grand Slam. Finally, we give a brief preview of the 2022 major season. We also look at how Bryson will fare and Tiger Woods potentially coming back to competitive golf. ...more42minPlay
December 13, 2021Bills-Bucs, 49ers-Bengals, MNF Preview, and Dylan's Jags' RantIn this episode, Alex and I debate both of Week 14's overtime games between the Bills and Bucs and 49ers and Bengals. We also discuss tonight's Monday Night meeting between the LA Rams and Arizona Cardinals and a memorable Jags rant from me! First, we talk about the Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Bucs. We look into how this game felt like two different games. Tampa started great while Buffalo finished well. I notice how buffalo's running backs did not carry the ball in the entire first half. We also look at how Tom Brady made history twice yesterday. First, Tom Brady set the NFL completions record. Then, he ended his career with his 700th touchdown to Breeshad Perriman. We also look at how Tampa's offense is gelling with Leonard Fournette running, Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, and Gronk catching passes behind a strong offensive line. With Buffalo struggling, we try and answer what's wrong with the Bills. We look at how the Bills have been unable to run - meaning Josh Allen is throwing and running. I also bring up a stat how Bufflo is 0-5 in one-possession games. Then we talk 49ers and Bengals. We looked at how the 49ers beat the Bengals 26-23 after leading 20-6 late in the fourth quarter. We looked at how SF ran without much of its strong running game. We look at how Elijah Mitchell's absence could have hurt SF's rushing attack. We also breakdown how Jimmy Garoppolo made big throws late in the fourth quarter and overtime. Then, we talk about tonight's Monday Night NFC West showdown between the LA Rams and Arizona Cardinals. We talk about Kyler Murray's dual-threat as a passer and runner. We also debate how Arizona's veteran additions have made a huge difference in Arizona's 10-2 season. I conclude this episode with a memorable rant after seeing my Jaguars lose to the Tennessee Titans 20-0!...more41minPlay
December 13, 2021Big D's Week 14 Cash Recap Hits and MissesIn tonight's recap, I go through a successful Week 14 cash review. I explain the hits and misses in my Week 14 strategy. I also explain why some plays will not always wpork for DFS players. First, I explain my hits. Raiders receiver Hunter Renfrow was a terror realing in 13 balls for 117 yards and a touchdown. Next, New Orleans Saints quarterback Taysom Hill backed up my talk with 26.3 points, which included a 44-yard rushing touchdown. Bucs receiver Chris Godwin proved a consistent target with 10 catches for 105 yards. Browns tight end Austin Hooper sure made his value work with 14 points. With every good play, there are some players who do not reach value or fail to reach projections. Today, 49ers running back Jeff Wilson Jr. and the Washington Football Team's Antonio Gibson were my major busts. Despite annoying me, I understand not every smash play will work every play. December 07, 2021Alex Winning his Guillotine League/ Lions First Win/BAL/PIT Recap/ NFL Power RankingsIn this episode, Alex and I talk about Alex winning his Guillotine League, the Vikings-Lions, Ravens-Steelers, and NFL Power Rankings. First, we talk about the Guillotine league Alex won. Alex explains how this league worked. Unlike most leagues, there were no head-to-heads. Every week, the lowest-scoring team was eliminated, and those players were put on waivers. The remaining teams received $150 to spend on free agents and waivers. Coming into Monday Night Football, Alex trailed by just over four points, but Patriots kicker Nick Folk was the last player remaining on either team. With high winds in Buffalo, kicking was a potential problem. When NE scored its first touchdown, Alex was hoping for a point from Folk. Instead, NE went for two, which was successfully converted. Luckily, two field goals helped Alex win his league - earning him $350. Alex also explains how he would run his team next year. Then, we talk about the Detroit Lions getting their first win on a game-ending touchdown ion a 29-27 win over the Minnesota Vikings. We talk about Detroit finally getting a win after so many near misses. The conversation then changes on what Mike Zimmer and the Vikings were doing on the last play in Detroit. We then debate another incredible game in the long-lasting rivalry between the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers. We look at how well Ben Roethlisberger played after announcing a likely retirement after this season. We also agree that the Ravens were correct in going for the win after scoring a late touchdown in the dying seconds. We end this episode by giving our NFL Power Rankings. Alex and I agree until the the last two teams where we flip the Green Bay Packers and Cardinals. SHOW LESS ...more36minPlay
