October 18, 2021MIA/JAC RECAP/DAL/NE OT Drama/Ravens Stomping Chargers/Big D's rant on the BrownsIn this episode, Alex and I look back on the crazy NFL London game between the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars, the Dallas Cowboys overtime thriller against the NE Patriots, a Ravens domination over the Chargers, and Big D's rant on Baker Mayfield. First, we recap my Jags beating Alex's Dolphins 23-20 on Matthew Wright's 53-yard field goal as time expired in London. This win ended Jacksonville's 20-game losing streak, which was second only to the 1976-77 Bucs. Jaguars rookie coach Urban Meyer and star Trevor Lawrence got their first NFL wins yesterday. Alex explains how this season was supposed to be a good season for Miami. He also explains how this defeat was the worst day for the Dolphins since Dan Marino retired. We were both surprised that Jacksonville's Urban Meyer seemed to get the better of Miami's Brian Flores. Alex shows his frustrations and pet peeve with Miami running out of the shotgun instead with Tua Tagovailoa under center. We also liked what both quarterbacks did in London. We recap key moments of the game. I was impressed when Trevor found Marvin Jones Jr. on a great pass for a key touchdown. After the London game, we turn our attention to the Cowboys and Patriots. We also talk about Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy's coaching and lock management almost costing Dallas a road win. Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb is also appearing to turn into the next star receiver with his play this year. We also look at how Dak Prescott and Trevon Diggs are looking like MVP contenders on both sides of the ball. Then, we look at the Baltimore Ravens impressive win over the LA Chargers. We look into how the Ravens can win with a dominant running game - limiting possessions for great passers like Justin Herbert. We also look into what Lamar Jackson winning without playing his best football. Finally, The Big D rants on Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns after the Arizona Cardinals won 37-14 over the Browns....more28minPlay
October 14, 2021Kelly LaFleur Schultz talks Red Sox/Gators Football with Big DIn this episode, Kelly LaFleur Schultz and I discuss the Boston Red Sox and Florida Gators Football. First, we talk about baseball. Kelly talks about her early years around baseball. I mention how Florida did not get an MLB until the Florida Marlins started in 1993. Then, Kelly really got into baseball. Before this year's spring Training, Kelly worked the Green monster scoreboard during Red Sox home games. She talks about how much fun it was to work in the Green Monster. This year, Kelly and I were both in the control room during Red Sox home games. Kelly actually saw the Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 2 of the ALDS. She remembers how there were 37,000 people at Tropicana Field, which has not been known for attracting large home crowds. After two more wins, the Red Sox eliminated the Rays and earned a rematch with the Houston Astros. With the American League Championship Series starting tomorrow night between the Red Sox and Astros, we discuss Boston's chances to win the AL Pennant. I also bring up the injury to Houston's ace Lance McCullers Jr., who is likely out for this series with a forearm strain. Onto college football, where we talk about Kelly's Gators. We both agree UF head coach Dan Mullen seems like a perfect fit in Gainesville. I compliment him saying how many different quarterbacks Dan Muller improved whether at Florida or Mississippi State. We also breakdown Florida's chances of beating LSU on Saturday afternoon! Kelly's most memorable Florida game was when the Gators beat No. 1 Florida State in "The Swamp" back in 1997. She remembers how the shaking felt like an earthquake with the noise that afternoon. I also try and stump Kelly with some Red Sox/Gator trivia and ask her whether she would choose a national championship or a World Series if given the choice. ...more33minPlay
October 13, 2021Cash Games: Week 5 Huge points/Week 6 Preview with Charles SearsIn this episode, Charles Sears and I talk Week 5 points and Week 6 preview. First, we talk about our Week 5 lineups. We talk about the cash plays that worked. Charles mentions the minimum score was around 171-172 points. He also mentions how the chalks plays all worked. I mention how the Dalvin Cook inactive news made me hesitant on using Alexander Mattison until the projections led me to Minnesota's other running back. Charles did not hear this news until it was too late. We talk about our head-to-head lineups. I beat him 208.78-200.52. Charles mentions how he pivoted from Giants quarterback Daniel Jones to LA Chargers star Justin Herbert in his cash lineup! Herbert accounted for five touchdowns in a 47-42 Charger win over the Cleveland Browns. Charles was unable to change in our matchup. Charles also knew Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb, who played in the late afternoon last week, was in my cash lineup due to my lineup construction. Onto Week 6, we talk about our favorite cash quarterback options. We dicuss several studs including Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes and Ravens phenom Lamar Jackson. Washington's Taylor Heinicke also could be work undre $6,000 against a terrible KC pass defense. We also look at whether Pats rookie Mac Jones could fill as a punt option. Onto running back, Charles starts with Chargers running back Austin Ekeler as a potential stud. I mention how Colts star Jonathan Taylor and LA Rams running back Darrell Henderson Jr. could be in line for big days with their teams monster favorites. At receiver, a couple of studs attract our attention. Green Bay's Davonte Adams and Rams star Cooper Kupp could be in line for double-digit targets again this weekend. We also look at which Bengal receiver could work in our lineup. KC's Tyreek Hill could be in line for another big week. From receiver to tight end, we talk about our favorite cash tight ends. With Chiefs star Travis Kelce back on the main slate, we answer whether Kelce will be in our cash lineups. We also discuss NY Giants tight end Evan Engram and the Washington Football team's Ricky Seals-Jones. We end this episode with defenses to use in our cash games this weekend....more1h 3minPlay
October 11, 2021BUF/KC Recap/CLE/LAC GB/CIN Ohio craziness/Big D's Jags rant/MIA/JAC BetIn this episode, Alex and I recap Sunday Night Football, which saw the Buffalo Bills hammer the Kansas City Chiefs, Ohio craziness, a Jags' rant, and Miami and Jacksonville finally meeting in London. First, We talk about Josh Allen's emergence and Buffalo's assertion to the top of the AFC. We also review what went wrong for the Chiefs and star passer Patrick Mahomes. We also discuss whether KC should have drafted LSU's Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the 2020 NFL Draft over future stars. We recap two of the craziest games of the entire season. First, we recap an overtime classic between the Green Bay Packers and Cincinnati Bengals, which saw five missed field goals before Mason Crosby won it with a 49-yard boot. We also talk about the LA Chargers beating the Cleveland Browns 47-42. We talk about Justin's Herbert becoming a star, the Browns trying to carry Chargers running back Austin Ekeler into the end zone, and Cleveland's questionable play-calling surrounding Baker Mayfield. Then, The Big G goes into a rant after seeing his beloved Jacksonville Jaguars lose their 20th straight game to the Tennessee Titans. Finally, Alex and I agree to a friendly wager between his Dolphins and my Jags who meet in London this Sunday. ...more32minPlay
October 09, 2021Week 5 Cash Games with Charles SearsIn this episode, DFS expert Charles Sears and I talk about our favorite Week 5 Cash plays. First, we talk our favorite quarterbacks. Charles likes Daniel Jones at $6,000. Jones is coming off a 400-yard passing effort next week and offers upside in a potential shootout against the Dallas Cowboys. I really like New England Patriots rookie Mac Jones or San Francisco's young passer Trey Lance. I really like Mac's consistent passing and Lance's rushing upside in his first NFL start. To running back, I start with my favorite running back play in Titans star Derrick Henry. With his workload and facing the Jaguars defense, I think Henry could smash on Sunday. Charles asks me on my view of Charles star Austin Ekeler. I also explain why two Florida rushers, Jacksonville's James Robinson and Tampa's Leonard Fournette, could be lined up for big days on Sunday. At receiver, we both agree Davonte Adams is the easy cash play with his target share in the Green Bay Packers offense. Charles even wants to stack Adams and Aaron Jones in cash. We look at Cowboy receivers Amari Cooper and Ceedee Lamb within $100 of each other against the Giants. Charles prefers taking the running backs with Cooper's rib injury. I also bring up Bucs receiver Antonio Brown at $5,200 with several potential targers against the Miami Dolphins. Chargers receiver Keenan Allen also attracts some attention at $6,500. With no Travis Kelce this week, Charles will look elsewhere for his cash tight end. We really like Ricky Seals-Jones as a punt play at the minimum $2,500. We also mention Jared Cook and Evan Engram. At defense, we both like saving some money with the Washington Football Team at just $2,300. We also look at more expensive defenses....more41minPlay
October 05, 2021Larry Gritton talks Kentucky Football, Braves Baseball, 2021 MLB Postseason, and 2012 NL WC DateIn this episode, Kentucky Wildcat and Atlanta Braves fan Larry Gritton and I talk all things UK and Braves. First, we look at Kentucky's first win over Florida in Lexington since 1986. We both mentioned how Lexington's crowd contributed to Florida's false-start penalties. We also looked at how UK won despite Florida controlling the football for most of the game. We also preview Kentucky's meeting with LSU in Lexington this weekend. Then, we switch to Baldy's Braves. Despite losing star outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. to a torn ACL, the Braves won the NL East. In July, Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos remade Atlanta's outfield by adding Joc Pederson, Eddie, Rosario, and Adam Duvall. Two promising Braves finally showed their talent in 2021. Third baseman Austin Riley led the Braves with a .303 average, 33 home runs, and 107 RBIs. Meanwhile, southpaw Max Fried finished an unbelievable second half by winning the NL Pitcher of the Month. In September, Fried pitched to a 1.54 ERA, which included a key shutout over the San Diego Padres. We look into the Braves NLDS matchup with the Milwaukee Brewers, which begins Friday. We then look back at the 2012 NL Wild Card game, which took place on this date. There, the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Atlanta in MLB's first Wild Card game. In the bottom of eighth with two runners on and one out, Andrelton Simmons popped a 3-2 pitch from Mitchell Boggs into the outfield. Cards shortstop Pete Kozma and left-fielder Matt Holliday could not catch the ball, and Atlanta should have loaded the bases. Unfortunately for Braves fans, Sam Holbrook made one of the most controversial calls with his famous infield fly ruling. Instead of loading the bases with one out, the Braves were unable to score. Not only did the Braves lose, but this game also marked the end of Chipper Jones' MLB career. We also preview both Wild Card games. First, the Boston Red Sox host the New York Yankees at Fenway Park. Tomorrow, the LA Dodgers host the St. Louis Cardinals. We are interested in seeing what Yankees ace Gerrit Cole will do in his biggest start this season. We also can't wait to see two veterans in Adam Wainwright and Max Scherzer pitch tomorrow night. ...more34minPlay
October 04, 2021TB/NE Recap/Arizona's Rushing/Cowboys/Both NY teams/Alex's Dolphins rantIn this episode, Alex and I talk Tom Brady's return to Gillette Stadium, the Arizona Cardinals dominant win in LA, the Cowboys beating the undefeated Panthers, both NY teams winning in overtime, and a Miami Dolphins rant. First, we look at Bucs quarterback Tom Brady's return to Foxborough, where he quarterbacked the New England Patriots to six Super Bowls over 20 seasons. We were both surprised the crowd booed Brady while under center for the Bucs despite TB12 playing against NE for the first time in his NFL career. We also look into the unusual and historic moment when Brady broke Drew Brees' passing yards record in the first quarter last night. To me, Brady was feeling the moment with several overthrows against Bill Belichick's defense. We also looked into how Belichick confused Brady with changing defenses throughout the game. We also look into how Pats rookie Mac Jones fared against the GOAT. We also question whether the Patriots should have gone for fourth and three or kick a 56-yard field goal. To me, this decision showed a lack of trust in Jones despite handling the moment very well. We into the Arizona Cardinals convincing win over the LA Rams. With 216 rushing yards, Arizona showed a way to win with a strong offensive line. Arizona's young passer, Kyler Murray, completed 75 percent of his throws for 268 yards and two touchdowns. We also look into the Dallas Cowboys defense coming up big with a victory over the undefeated Carolina Panthers. We look into how Trevon Diggs has transformed the Dallas secondary with his five interceptions in four games. We also look into the Cowboys efficient offense. We also take a look at a never-before-seen event in NFL history; both New York teams winning overtime games on the same day. We look into how Giants quarterback Daniel Jones and Jets rookie Zach Wilson made big throws to get their teams their first win of 2021. Alex then goes on a weekly rant about his Miami Dolphins. We explain whether the Dolphins should go after Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson if he is eligible to play. We also look at which Dolphin draft picks have worked and frustrated Alex. ...more45minPlay
October 01, 2021Vandygrad92 talks Steelers, a kidney transplant, Week 4 DFS, and Shania TwainIn this episode, @Vandygrad92 talk everything from the Steelers, kid kidney transplant, Week 4 DFS, and Shania Twain. First, we talk about the Steelers. Brian says how he began that won championships. Then, the Steelers, Cincinnati Reds, and Boston Celtics all won titles. He has kept those same teams for 46 years. This season, the Steelers are 1-2. We also talk about whether Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger could be playing his last year. We also talk about how Steelers rookie running back Najee Harris has fit in the NFL. Last week, Harris caught 14 passes against the Bengals. Onwards to an amazing story of courage, discovery, and opportunity, Brian talks about how he and former Chiefs defensive tackle "Jelly Roll" Dalton got kidney transplants. Brian tells me how five of his acquaintances received kidney transplants with assistance from social media. Brian also became friends with CBS Sports' Jamey Eisenberg and ESPN's Stephania bell, who spread the word about Dalton's kidney condition. Dalton received his kidney donation a few weeks ago. From that amazing story to Week 4 DFS, we each give some of our favorite DFS plays Brian likes stack Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson while I still like Rams receiver Robert Woods at just $5,300 on DraftKings. Finally, we talk about Brian's favorite singer/performer Shania Twain. Brian also mentions how he is in the Shania Twain division in the Scott Fish Bowl. We also give our favorite Shania Twain song. He likes "Any Man of Mime" while I like :From This Moment On". I also bring up how Shania was present when the Tampa Bay Bucs won both Super Bowls....more25minPlay
September 30, 2021Cash Game Week 3 review/Week 4 Preview with Charles SearsIn this episode, Charles Sears and I talk about our Week 3 cash games and preview our favorite Week 4 chalk plays. First, Charles talks about his two biggest rules for cash games. First, he tries to pay down for a quarterback. Second, If Travis Kelce is playing, Charles always wants him in cash games. He also talks about his late decisions, which did not go well last week. He broke his own rule in pivoting Kelce for Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson, who caught just two passes after being massive chalk heading into Sunday's game with the Ravens. Jared Goff and Justin Fields, two quarterbacks Charles wanted in last week's contests, did not reach value. We were both happy to use Rams receiver Cooper Kupp, who continued his amazing start with another strong game against the Bucs. Charles not wants to use Kelce and Kupp in his weekly lineups. Then, The Big D responds with his cash results. I struggled over which running backs to use. I settled on Joe Mixon and Mike Davis. I was bummed seeing Antonio Gibson score a long touchdown. Gibson was a player I considered all week. I noticed Keenan Allen getting 19 points and an amazed with his consistency. We also suggest not making any late pivots unless an injury situation occurs before Sunday's slate begins. Onto Week 4, where we are disagreeing on our favorite passers to target. Charles likes going with a cheap passer, and Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan seems like a good target for him. I don't mind paying for my quarterback. I really like both Sam Darnold and Dak Prescott as my cash quarterbacks in Arlington, Texas this weekend. Charles responds with trying to use Aaron Rodgers in his cash games this weekend. To running back, we both like Steelers rookie, Najee Harris after a 14-catch outing last week. DraftKings also only raised his price $200 - still making him very affordable. I also want to use Bears running back David Montgomery under $6,000. Charles is still worried over who will be under center for Chicago this weekend. From running backs to receivers, I really like Cowboy receivers Amari cooper and Ceedee Lamb. I also like Panthers receiver D.J. Moore in the same game script. talk about DK's most underpriced player this week in Rams receiver Robert Woods, who only costs $5,300. Despite Kupp being Matt Stafford's favorite target the opening three games, Woods feels too cheap in a potential shootout against the Arizona Cardinals. To the expensive receivers, Charles still likes using Kupp while I love Packers receiver Davonte Adams this week. I notice Kupp's price is the most expensive he has been all year while Adams is below $8,000 for the first time this season. We end the episode by looking at tight ends and how Charles is constructing his roster! If you want to see Charles' articles you can look at this chalk article from Week 3. https://www.fakepigskin.com/2021/09/24/to-chalk-or-not-to-chalk-week-3-nfl-picks-for-draftkings/ ...more50minPlay
September 27, 2021Week 3 Recap, Special Teams History, and More Jags/Fins HeartbreakIn this episode, Alex and I give our views of the Week 3 slate, which saw history, crazy finishes, and even rants. First, we talk about Chargers quarter Justin Herbert coming of age in a 30-24 AFC west showdown over the Chiefs. In a matchup against Patrick Mahomes, the second-year sensation responded with four touchdowns without committing a turnover. Meanwhile, the Chiefs committed four turnovers. Then, we look into two special teams historic moments. First, Ravens kicker Justin Tucker broke the NFL record with a 66-yard field goal to give the Ravens a 19-17 win over the Detroit Lions. We also look at Jacksonville Jaguars return man Jamal Agnew's 109-yard return on a 68-yard missed field goal. To Week's 3 biggest game, where the LA Rams handled Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Bucs 34-24. Matthew Stafford looked strong - throwing for 343 yards and four touchdowns. Rams receiver Cooper Kupp continued his amazing start with nine catches for 96 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, the Rams converted 10-of-15 third-down conversions while averaging 8.5 yards per pass attempt. LA's defense also sacked TB12 three times in the win. We also look at the Cincinnati Bengals handling the Pittsburgh Steelers in an AFC north divisional meeting. We finally switch to our favorite teams. First, the Arizona Cardinals beat Big D's Jags 31-19. Despite a #KickSix to end the first half, the Jags struggled to keep up with Cards quarterback Kyler Murray and Arizona's high-flying offense. Meanwhile, Trevor Lawrence threw two more interceptions, including a #PickSix that ended Jacksonville's hopes of its first win of 2021. While again struggling late in yesterday's game, we are both confident in Lawrence maturing into a star. Then, we look back at another classic between the Miami Dolphins and Las Vegas Raiders. Unlike December's meeting, the Raiders won it with an overtime kick 31-28. Despite an early 14-0 lead, the Raiders responded with 25 points, which included a safety. Alex was not happy with Miami's coaching especially before the safety. Finally, The Big D ends this episode by ranting against Matt Nagy and the Chicago Bears, who only managed 47 total yards of offense in a 26-6 loss to the Cleveland Browns. While rookie Justin Fields was sacked nine times, the Bears continued their abysmal and doomed game plan. I react to why the Bears should think of firing Nagy and why Chicago cannot find a confident passer....more42minPlay
