This week we are in the Red Room of Outhouse interviewing living legend Ireland’s Godfather of Gay, Tonie Walsh. For decades Tonie has been at the forefront of the fight civil rights – for housing rights, women’s rights, and queer rights – while the country changed around him. Tonie talks to us about his experiences coming out in 1970's Clonmel, witnessing Ireland’s seismic social change, and his campaign to bring the memories of those lost in the AIDS epidemic back to life through a memorial.
