As we focus on the pork industry today, Dr. Lee Schultz outlines what he heard and discussed in his recent regional conferences with the IPPA and provides an outlook for the coming year in economic outlook for pork producers. IPPA CEO Pat McGonegle tells us about their recent trip to Japan and Korea learning about foreign markets for pork and addressed some those buyers' questions. And the IPPA is in search of the best pulled pork in the state in their Pulled Pork Madness and Cory van Gilst joins the program to tell us how to nominate your favorite restaurant and vote once they have their top 16!

Corteva Agriscience Agronomy Manager Mark Jeschke talks about their latest research on seed orientation and what they've found works best to reduce the required GDUs. Our hay market expert Dale Lesline updates us on yesterday's sale in Dyersville and he says demand is strong and weather continues to be a factor on hay availability. We close today's Big Show with a market update with Don Roose from U.S. Commodities and chatting about the targets he sees for corn and beans and how crop insurance prices will play into the mix.

Meaghan Anderson from Iowa State Extension discusses the newly updated Nutrient Recommendation Guide released last week talking about some of the key updates, and some things that notably were unchanged. Will Tubbs from Corteva joins us at the start of the hour looking at two-pass treatments for weeds and what weeds has says could pose the biggest challenge in 2023. In this week's Iowa Farm Bureau Federation Spotlight on Rural Iowa we talk with Amanda Van Steenwyk about their upcoming Acres of Opportunity Conference on Saturday March 11 and what she is most looking forward to from the conference and how to get registered. We wrap up talking markets with Garrett Toay from Ag Trader Talk and he says when you're looking at the projected corn and soybean prices from the Ag Outlook Conference to take them with a grain of salt because they are just that: projections.

Rabobank's Lance Zimmerman addresses the low cattle inventory in the United States but says that we don't need to get back to 1970's and 80's inventory because of how much more productive the herd is in 2023. Garrett Toay from Ag Trader Talk discusses today's sharp drop in soybeans, down 20 to 25 cents, and talks about spring crop insurance here on the last day of February. We wrap up the week with market analyst Jamey Kohake looking at grain markets sharply lower, livestock mixed and also we hear his thoughts on the market effects of the war in Ukraine at it's one-year mark.
