The Big Tent

July 18, 2024: Jaci, Jen, Nisha, and Charlie break down one of the most consequential weeks in American politics that any of us can remember. We cover the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, the Republican National Convention, and the increasingly serious efforts to replace President Biden on the Democratic ticket.

This week on the show, Nisha, Jaci, and Jen talk international stories, the impact of the Supreme Court's decision on Chevron deference, and a grab bag of other stories for "Top of Mind."

Happy Fourth of July! This week, we're re-airing a show we recorded in March of 2023. Luke and Charlie interview their Boise State colleague, Dr. Jared Talley. Jared talks with us about his unique background, his research on environmental governance, and we even get a little philosophical. We'll be back with an all-new episode next week.

This week, Nisha and Charlie are joined by two special guests: Julieta and Fakri, two participants in the Mandela Washington Fellowship program, hosted by Boise State's School of Public Service. Julieta and Fakri tell us about their experience in the program, their impressions of Boise, and how their important work in their home countries.

Originally aired Thursday, June 27, 2024.
