This is the biggest fear for Phillies fans.
It’s October and the Phillies’ rotation dominates its opponent in the NL Wild Card Series or NL Division Series. But the offense can’t string hits together and the Phils take another early October exit, forcing difficult decisions to be made in the offseason. It could happen again. It certainly happened this week in Houston. The Phillies allowed only five runs in the three-game series, but the offense scored only one. It’s just the 10th time since 1901 that a team allowed five or fewer runs in a series and got swept.
