Florida’s recruiting and new football facility assumed centerstage as the school hosted Napier’s first-ever Friday Night Lights in the sweltering Swamp. Among the many top recruits expected was Lakeland’s Cormani McClain, the state’s top prospect and nation’s No. 1 cornerback recruit. McClain would deliver the Gators’ 2023 class the (5) starpower it lacks. First things first, though. Napier’s first Gators’ squad opens preseason camp Wednesday with all eyes on QB Anthony Richardson. Richardson’s ability to stay healthy and lead a new offense are critical. Yet questions abound on boths sides of the football.
