This week the boys watched what is undoubtedly one of the greatest films ever made: Gladiator. Ridley Scott's masterpiece is an epic that hits on every single level and doesn't miss a step, even 26 years later.

The boys dug into everything they loved about this movie from the casting to the cinematography to Joaquin Phoenix's truly unhinged performance. And, because it's Kev 'n' Ugie, they also have plenty to complain about... mostly just Lucilla.

This week Kev 'n' Ugie watched the genre- and career-defining horror remake, Dawn of the Dead.

This movie was an excellent zombie romp and thrived in James Gunn's wheelhouse of surprisingly funny action. But watching it in 2026 reminds you just how much has been done in the world of zombies since then. At the time, this movie broke out of the niche and into the mainstream in a big way. But as Kev 'n' Ugie watch it 22 years later, they find themselves wanting for the universe rigor of everything that came since. The zombies are fast and strong... but can't get out of a fountain?

Rules aside, the guys still loved this movie and had a great time reliving it. They break down all the shots, lines, easter eggs, and flubs they can find and enjoy every second of it.

This week the boys were joined by a new guest, Isaak, to talk about one of the wildest scripts to sneak through Disney in the 90s: Blank Check.No, it actually wasn't a Disney Channel Original Movie! This was a theatrical release about a kid who steals $1M, buys everything he could ever want, goes on a date with a fully grown adult federal agent, and escapes all consequences.You might even be thinking "oh it's Disney, at least there are family values" AND YOU'D BE WRONG. The parents in this are awful, every other adult is a borderline or explicit criminal, and the kid learns nothing. Literally who allowed this to be made?!

This week, Kev 'n' Ugie watched Wayne's World! This was Ugie's first time seeing it and he wasn't a fan. Kev tried to be a gracious, forgiving friend but we're not sure he pulled it off.

The boys do their usual breakdown of all of their favorite parts of the movie. The best part of this episode, however, is them being completely misaligned on whether it's a good movie. It's a first for the pod and thankfully more episodes will still be coming!

Really what we (meaning Kev) learned here is that this is a pretty white movie. The depiction of suburban metalheads speaks to a pretty specific demographic, and that's a demographic Ugie and his family were not part of.

What do y'all think? Is Ugie being too harsh? Or is Wayne's World really a movie that you need to grow up on to appreciate?

This week the boys had the daunting task of watching a Kevin Spacey movie in 2026 and trying to enjoy it. It's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it.

The Usual Suspects is by far one of the greatest unfolding mysteries in cinema history and has influences countless successors. The boys hopped in to relive it and honestly loved every second of it. The pacing, the camera work, and the endless permutations of "what if" make this a true gem of a film. It's the kind of movie where every watch unlocks more questions, and each one has many possible answers.

Kev and Ugie end up all over the place with this one, but one thing is for sure: you can still enjoy this movie today, as long as you have the capacity for separating the art from the artist. Which is, admittedly, a big ask.
