The Black Box

In this weeks episode, Shawn joins the Comic Tube podcast as they discuss everything Ghostbusters. And I mean everything.

In this weeks episode, Shawn & Ian Levenstein of the Comic Timing podcast conclude their talk on some of their favorite pop culture guilty pleasures, and Shawn waxes about Monopoly: Revolution Edition & some must-hear music. Don’t get eaten by Sharks.

In this weeks show, Shawn talks about Lackadaisy, gives a rundown on 24 via the tweets of Julian Lytle, and is later joined by Ian Levenstein of the Comic Timing Podcast as they begin their two part discussion on guilty pleasures in comics & movies that they love. Props to 406northlane.com for reminding me of the greatness that is Megaforce. Ace Hunter lives!

On this weeks show I talk about artist Mike Norton’s upcoming comic “The Curse,” and then Donny Salvo of the Reality Wasted Podcast returns as we discuss what comics we’ve been reading. Donny tells you why Classic G.I. Joe (Vol. 6) is the best TPB ever, I somehow find a way to compare comics to the incredible MC Lyte, and we lightly debate on how an artist can kill a book you love in an instance.

In this week’s PKD Black Box, Shawn talks about the musical career of the late Teddy Pendergrass, and is later joined by Jon Carroll and special guest Ian Levenstein of the Comic Timing Podcast as they discuss Comic Book Conventions, bin diving, buying art at cons, and con do’s & dont's.

Over the weekend I was a special guest on the movie-centric “Matinee Idles” podcast as we discussed the latest movie trailers and films coming out this year. I had such a great time on the show that I wanted to put this episode of me with the “Matinee Idles” podcast in your ears. I really hope you enjoy this ep.

In this weeks installment of The Black Box I give some quick reviews on “Sherlock Holmes,” the “Something, Something, Something Dark Side” Family Guy Direct-to-DVD feature, the “From Paris with Love” trailer, and then co-host Jon Carroll returns with special guests Elizabeth Amber & Keith Cunningham as we attempt to briefly discuss some things that we’re looking forward to in 2010.

Guest Donny Salvo returns as we discuss monthly comics vs. trades and what we prefer, and I also talk about the now short-lived Doctor Voodoo series by Marvel.

Just a little somethin’-somethin’ for all you listeners on Christmas Day. Peace and good will to all.

Seeing that this episode will air on Christmas Eve, it’s only fitting that on today’s show we’re going to talk about “What The Dudes Want For Christmas.” I recently was a guest on the Legion of Dudes Christmas podcast (episode 70) , as we talked about some gift ideas for you, that special someone, or that uber-special geek in your life. The LOD breaks it down: The Dudes are back to spread some holiday cheer with special guest Shawn Pryor of the Black Box Podcast. We talk all about the gifts we want, recommend and can’t have this Christmas. We also let everyone in on who has been naughty and who has been nice in the eyes of the LOD. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
