Meditation has been an integral part of my life ( and sanity ) over the past 3-4 years and hopefully this will help some of you with the daily stress of life. Today we release our third 5-Minute Guided Meditation entitled “Equanimity”. Equanimity is mental calmness, composure, and evenness of temper. In the practice of Equanimity we are tuning our minds and hearts in efforts to stay balanced and live with ease with our surroundings. If you’ve ever considered meditating but never gave it a chance, this may be the episode to change your mind and heart.

On our premier episode we speak with James , a southern boy with roots in Birmingham Alabama, who has made many stops on the road to higher education. Those stops include The University of Alabama in Birmingham & Indiana University in Bloomington. His most recent move has been to Chicago where he worked at The Illinois Institute of Technology, Depaul University and finally Loyola University where he is Chicago Student Affairs staff, specifically in the Student Diversity & Multicultural Affairs department. Today James and I speak on growing up as a little black boy in the south, the role of fraternities in black culture specifically with men and a host of other topics.
