In This week’s Mind ReMapping Moment, we revisit when we talked about Change work and why changing the environment gives limited longevity ended.
Change is always constant and universal, whether it is change in diet, beliefs, work out etc.
Changing your environment is helpful when you are in that particular environment , so unless you are in that one environment all the time, changing your environment can be very limiting because you still have the same mind and people in that environment.
There are levels to change and changing your environment is the most basic level in change and it is the easiest of things.
Changing your environment to a better one can improve your wellbeing and give you satisfaction and fulfillment in the space, however you have the same un-resourceful behaviors and you’ll experience the same thing you were experiencing before.
When we start moderating our behaviors, which is the next level of change, we start to deepen the level change, which results in another level of sustainability and in turn change in outcome.
On the next level, it’s about looking at what your capacity, your capability to change in a particular way may be limited. At this level you need to learn the skills required for sustainable change.
The next level of change is your “why” which is the level of value, this is where beliefs come, this is where the motivation comes from and this is the core point of change. What’s important to you about what you want to change, now if you align change in your beliefs, change in your skill capacity, change in your behavior and change in your environment then this a deeper level of sustainability in change.
The next level of change is in your identity, who we identify as defines what our values are.
At the next level of change is purpose and mission which tends to change over time depending where we are at that particular time. Our purpose and mission shapes our identity, our identity gives us our values and beliefs, our values and beliefs shape our capacity and capabilities, our capacity and capabilities shape our behavior and our behavior shapes our environment.
