The Blacksmith's Furnace episodes

  • TBF 312 “If y’all can kill them we can at least abandon them”
Get your head gear and shin guards on cos it’s another episode of the Furnace with the Heavy Hitters Mo and Pete in attendance.
Red mic Rockstar Rob is still on holiday and couldn’t join us but we kick things off violently with Mo discussing where the divide should lie, if at all, between church and start and Peter responds to the recent Abortion law change in America and describes how he would talk to his 3 year old daughter about being baptised.
As can be expected the Sorry Not Sorry questions spill into the main topic and we discuss our thoughts on secular government both in America and indeed right here domestically following BoJo’s recent resignation and shenanigans.
For our Hookups peter suggested checking out the new Halo series now available in the UK on the Paramount + channel, have a watch here [https://www.paramountplus.com/gb/](https://www.paramountplus.com/gb/)
And Mo suggested checking out a Spiderman series on Disney + called Spiderman and his amazing friends, check that out here [https://www.disneyplus.com/en-gb/series/spider-man-and-his-amazing-friends/6GgiHdXuk1G3?distributionPartner=google](https://www.disneyplus.com/en-gb/series/spider-man-and-his-amazing-friends/6GgiHdXuk1G3?distributionPartner=google)

  • TBF 311 Gospel Vs CCM
Welcome all to another episode of the Blacksmith’s Furnace with Pete and Mo, Rob is off on holiday this week so the Heavy hitters held things down on a Topic Robert so kindly provided from sunny Gh.
We kicked things off in Sorry not sorry with both guys talking about what they are currently studying and how they go about studying the Bible.
We then go on to tackle Rob’s question which was who gets to define what is Gospel and what’s Christian Contemporary Music and should there be any distinction in the first place.
Suffice it to say, we certainly had a lot to say on the matter!
For our hookups we both kept it musical but surprisingly we both went secular. Mo suggested checking out an artist called D Smoke and his album Black Habits, have a listen here [https://open.spotify.com/album/0WkqYoTVOLg2ady3z0vusJ?si=eGkadsvaSbeei6GrXprWiQ](https://open.spotify.com/album/0WkqYoTVOLg2ady3z0vusJ?si=eGkadsvaSbeei6GrXprWiQ)

  • TBF 310 Flowering Friendships
Welcome one welcome all to another episode of the Blacksmith’s Furnace.
In attendance the heavy hitters Mo and Pete hold down the fort with extra special guest Arnold Reasons.
Unsurprisingly this week’s episode was pretty much just Sorry not sorry with Arnold taking the hot seat and WWE style smacking everyone else with it!
We start off with Pete wanting to know between the 10 Commandments and the 600 further laws expanded on by Moses which was from God and which was from Man, 30 minutes later we reach consensus lol
Mo then wanting to know why Arnold felt justified in writing a book and contributing to what is already a plethora of information in society and more specifically in Christian society.
After the longest Sorry not Sorry we’ve ever had in furnace history we then go on to talk about curating friendships without being self serving and opportunistic but with a view to have quality influences only!
For our hookups Peter suggested checking out a particular episode of the Reason To behold Podcast where you get to really hear what it looks like to disagree respectfully have a listen here [https://soundcloud.com/reasontobehold/rtbp-episode-68-lifes-classroom?utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing](https://soundcloud.com/reasontobehold/rtbp-episode-68-lifes-classroom?utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing)
Mo suggested checking out music from JGivens
and Arnold shared a podcast by ET the hiphop preacher called the Secrets to success, subscribe here [https://www.s2spodcast.com/](https://www.s2spodcast.com/)

  • TBF 309 - Swanton Song
The Smash Bros were in full effect this week as Peter nursed his esophagus after doing who knows what.
Robert's Sorry Not Sorry question was around whether or not praying for a disabled person to be healed is ableist whilst Mo's was around how a Christian can find their God-given vocation.
Today's episode was inspired by wrestler Jeff Hardy's trials and tribulations with substance abuse which led into a conversation about how/when a person should step away from ministry if they are struggling with something.
For our hookups, Moses suggested the anime My Hero Academia (https://www.crunchyroll.com/my-hero-academia)whilst the Knave of Hearts recommend the film Legend (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3569230/)

  • TBF 308 Too good to be ignored
Heavy hitters bringing the heat this week, with Rob slacking off like a slacker!
Mo kicks things off for Sorry not Sorry with a biblical case for Therapy and Peter addresses the Catholic view of Sex being exclusively for procreation.
We then go on to talk about Pete’s tech racism and how Apple overcame it by simply being so good they couldn’t be ignored!
Pete suggests this as a sufficient model for dealing with real racism in the world and presents the idea that we should strive to be so good at whatever it is we do, that we simply can’t be ignored. Mo had some reservations about this approach and its potential application to everyone and we have a good conversation about dealing with racism in general.
For our hookups Pete suggests a couple books he’s loved recently; Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink [https://g.co/kgs/Hvu4sJ](https://g.co/kgs/Hvu4sJ) and Can’t hurt me by David Goggins [https://g.co/kgs/Hfn7s9](https://g.co/kgs/Hfn7s9)
Mo Suggested a couple songs Awesome God by R Swift [https://open.spotify.com/track/7oAnV2PAXpIy7fa87gvUsy?si=--gBWsPSSiWrIjVs3p3ALw](https://open.spotify.com/track/7oAnV2PAXpIy7fa87gvUsy?si=--gBWsPSSiWrIjVs3p3ALw) and Kendrick Lama’s Mr Morale and the Big Steppers [https://open.spotify.com/album/1atjqOZTCdrjxjMyCPZc2g](https://open.spotify.com/album/1atjqOZTCdrjxjMyCPZc2g) and Rob who finally showed up near the end of the episode suggested checking out a podcast called Diary of a CEO have a listen here [https://www.youtube.com/c/thediaryofaceo](https://www.youtube.com/c/thediaryofaceo)

  • TBF 307 Teflon Don John's son
Welcome all to another episode of the Blacksmith’s Furnace. We hope you’ve had a great week thus far.
This week the Rock and the Rockstar jump around a few topics in the absence of Mo. They kick things off trading questions for Sorry Not Sorry. Robert talks about some superstitions he has and whether or not Christians should have those? and Peter talks about what he considers sufficient pay for full time ministers based on the size of the congregation.
We then go on to talk about the tragic mass shooting in America, and while our hearts and prayers go out to the victims we couldn’t help but be frustrated by yet another instance of gun violence in a country that seemingly refuses to do anything significant about guns!
We touch on a few other topics in the process like if violent games can be blamed for some of this violence and Boris Johnson’s blatant disregard for the very laws he made and how there seems to be no real consequence for it before giving some hookups.
For those hookups Robert suggested checking out a UK rap album called Alfie, have a listen here https://open.spotify.com/album/4sYX4LKEfgMA8ohABncGx8?si=WalcHk2EQDuZUoOq5c7sOg&utm_source=whatsapp and Peter suggested checking out an Instagram account called Robin Black mma have a watch of some of his hilarious breakdowns here [https://www.instagram.com/robinblackmartialarts/](https://www.instagram.com/robinblackmartialarts/)

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening and welcome to another episode of the Blacksmith’s Furnace. It’s the rock and the Rockstar this week in the absence of man like Mo who’s out in Greece living his very best life.
Pete and Rob traded sorry not sorry questions, Pete attempted to justify the old testament prophet Elisha calling wild animals to devour some kids calling him bald and Rob talk about the only circumstances under which it is ok to view pornographic material. His answer might surprise you!
We then go on to talk about this very interesting clip [https://youtu.be/GhuRtqzeqYk](https://youtu.be/GhuRtqzeqYk) of two black ladies talking about colorism, and natural hair and some issues very specific to the black community on a show hosted by two white celebrities. We more specifically talk about our thoughts on such issues being discussed on that particular platform.

It’s a full furnace one more bringing you that heat this week.
Mo returned straight to the hot seat and talked about how a person might know they are truly and fully saved and gave his thoughts on the use of recreational, pleasure inducing drugs.
We then go on to talk about what makes a good villain and which villains are our favourites from, Anime, comics and movies?
We follow this up with a discussion on whether or not the Devil makes for a good villain in the Christian story.
For our hookups Mo suggested checking out a animated movie on Netflix based on chinese mythology and folklore called New God’s Nehza reborn [https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/81418302?s=i&trkid=13747225&vlang=en&clip=81418518&t=wha](https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/81418302?s=i&trkid=13747225&vlang=en&clip=81418518&t=wha), Peter suggested checking out Dr Strange and the Multiverse of Madness currently in cinemas and Rob suggested a youtube channel called MrTommo2304 check him out here [https://youtube.com/c/MrTommo2304](https://youtube.com/c/MrTommo2304)

  • TBF 304 Body Bags and Body Blows
IT’s the Rock and the Rockstar this week with Mo neck deep in birthday prep for his lovely little girl.
We take turns in the hot seat with Rob wondering what Pete’s marriage would be the metaphor for, circa the life of Hosea and Peter wanted to know if, not caring, when someone dies, especially when it’s someone you don’t agree with.
We go on to talk about a few different topics one of which was the recent demise of Kevin Samuels and the legacy he leaves behind for the Manosphere, we also talk about the potential over turning of the Roe vs ward verdict and our thoughts on abortion among many other topics.
For our Hookups Rob suggested the 3 Plus app for those who use 3 as their mobile carrier, you can find lots of fun discounts and freebies on the app so check it out, and Peter suggested checking out the latest Marvel movie, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness

Welcome one, welcome all to another edition of the Blacksmith’s Furnace.
It the Heavy Hitters delivering the 1, 2 that’s knocked Robert out cold and into next week, hopefully.
Mo and Peter go one for one during Sorry not Sorry, Mo talked about his thoughts on the Church as a corporate organisation being financially “profitable” and Pete talked about the theory that Jesus was in himself, Father, Son and Holy Spirit at once.
We then go on to talk about the Jonny Depp vs Amber Heard defamation lawsuit and the traditional attitude towards men being the victims of abuse in relationships.
This then led us to a really difficult conversation about what masculinity even means! Suffice it to say we’d very must like to know what it means to you.
For our Hookups, Peter suggested checking out an album by the God over money crew released on the 29th called Us against the World, have a listen here [https://open.spotify.com/album/5UlmeuYvwVo7YGrovmpbJW?si=caFdjBkrQD62Ytz6wj67IQ](https://open.spotify.com/album/5UlmeuYvwVo7YGrovmpbJW?si=caFdjBkrQD62Ytz6wj67IQ)
