Moreover if we’re navigating in a world without truth then we’re living in a form of delirium.

Firstly I often find myself in the role of ‘fact checker’ around the nomad campfire.

And every now and then I declare a moratorium on fact checking.

Because when it comes to the social aspects of nomad life no one wants find themselves constantly corrected.

In addition none of us wants to be wrong.

However over the winter months one of the skills I developed was the ability to determine facts and therefore truth.

Certainly there are methods of logic.

As well as legal standards such as the basic rules of evidence.

Finally the need for context on any particular controversial subject.

Most importantly while I started these podcasts with political content over time I have developed a policy against such content.

Therefore the tools I offer can be useful when determining facts in any subject of conversation, without getting political.

In fact I don’t really care what the reader’s political leanings might be.

That is to say we all need a dose of fact checking every now and then.

To sum up all media has devolved into creating a sense of urgency around it’s content while at the same time developing a penchant for predicting the future.

More importantly no matter what we’re talking about sometimes the best thing we can do is admit we just don’t know.

In conclusion it’s important to point out I discovered these tools in my own search for truth regarding the recent run up in the price of fuel and the ensuing inflation.

It has been difficult and time consuming but rewarding.

To be sure the hardest part of all of this is developing a sense of historical context and an instinct for what is relevant in any consideration of a problem.

Secondly and sadly these days no one is going to do this work for us.

Secondly a whirlwind 4 day trip from Quartzsite brought me here.

Above all we nomads are often called away.

And we have to make a quick cross country trip.

For example I covered 7 states in roughly 4 days to help with a family emergency.

That is to say this is part of the normal experience of committing to life on the road.

Certainly I am grateful to be able to make the trip.

But I went from the desert heat to the still snow covered fields in rural Western Wisconsin.

Therefore I am reformulating spring and summer travel plans.

Meanwhile I plan to be here in the Dairy State at least until midsummer.

And looking forward to it!

Likewise I am struck by the transitory nature of life in general.

Even more a death in the family brings these thoughts to the top of mind.

Moreover it’s time to tie up some loose ends in Northern-Lights-Again-Bob Davis Podcast 1093.

For example one of the reasons I was sitting so long in the desert had to do with the price of fuel and inflation.

Did at least two podcasts in a series discussing higher prices. A good example of this series is here.

In addition as prices head lower it’s also time to re evaluate the pace of travel.

And likewise to discuss how quickly deep bonds are formed in our nomad community.

I will certainly miss the campfires for the time being.

And sitting around poking fun at each other.

Finally this was a great winter of camping in the desert.

Especially meeting and getting to know new people.

On the other hand I look forward to some fun summer travel this year.

That is to say the meltdown of at least three banks this week sent shock waves through the financial community.

And allowed You Tube financial geeks and politicians the opportunity to scream fire in a crowded auditorium.

Certainly bank closures at any time are cause for concern.

But there’s a reason for these developments.

Firstly Canary-In-The-Coal-Mine-Bob Davis Podcast 1092 is not a podcast with a bunch of statistics and language no one can understand.

Secondly I am updating some of the podcasts I did earlier this year and last on the US Economy.

Of course my personal concern has been the price of diesel fuel.

On the other hand greater concerns about the US Economy are beginning to be top of mind.

Most importantly these concerns are not unfounded.

To clarify the US is dealing with inflation which requires higher interest rates.

Subsequently we’re seeing the effects of these higher rates.

Mainly because businesses aren’t prepared for this.

As a result there will probably be more carnage.

Finally I am not going to tell listeners what they should do with their money.

In addition I am not going to predict the future.

We’ll see what happens. After that I will do updates as needed.

In the same vein one of the subjects of Canary-In-The-Coal-Mine-Bob Davis Podcast 1092 is the penchant prognosticators have for predicting the future.

And for politicians to politicize financial events they don’t necessarily understand.

In conclusion this is a precarious moment in history.

Most certainly because of the weight of the moment there’s a lot of pressure on those who have to make the decisions.

Secondly the guy who built the Love’s Truck and Travel Stop chain Love’s passes away recently at 85.

Therefore it’s time for a podcast live from the Love’s.

Above all this subject gets me going on the history of first the National Highway System and it’s successor the Interstates.

In addition while I am not an expert on the history of trucking I’ll spend some time on this subject.

As well as discussing the whole subject of how the truck stops starting as independent refueling stations grew with the Interstates and the US from the 1960’s.

Certainly it’s fair to say that over the road trucking coast to coast…

And the container system with railroads…

Has contributed greatly to America’s logistics systems.

Of course the Truck Stops of all kinds have been a big part of that.

As a result Truck Stops like Love’s are nationwide.

Most importantly the truck stops also cater to travelers and nomads.

That is to say fuel, great food, products we need and showers make life on the road a lot more comfortable and enjoyable than it was back in the day.

Likewise I am old enough to remember when the Interstates were still in construction.

Taking family road trips that often detoured onto two lane highways through the South and central US.

Moreover these trips fueled my passion for the travel experience.

Including the mom and pop truck stops of old.

Finally you often hear people lament the changes in this country.

But some of those changes have produced results that we will remember fondly someday when they too pass into the mists of time.

In short for Truckers, Nomads and Travelers Truck Stops are a necessity.

You have to listen to find out what’s causing this fascination with ‘the end times’.

Whether it’s the Earth burning up, Nuclear War, Mass Starvation, Economic Collapse and certainly the return of Jesus, everyone seems to have their favorite end times theme.

Even hippies are getting into the act with their theories about the so called 5D world.

Or the arrival of benevolent aliens who just want to help us.

Of course there are catastrophes happening and in the making almost every day.

And the prognosticators, tarot card readers, economic experts, former generals and lesser ranks jumping on whatever end times band wagon seems to be going by.

But what’s amazing is how many people adhere to these theories.

And once one identifies with some theory one feels the need to defend and promote it.

Consequently we all seem to be in a constant low level depression.

In short I am getting tired of it.

To begin with you’ll not find a shortage of dystopian literature and movies in my collection.

But every now and then it gets to be a little too much.

Therefore the theme of Your-Apocalypse-Now-Bob Davis Podcast 1090 is an explanation for this negativity.

That is to say while there are challenges in our country and the world they aren’t insurmountable.

And there’s a very good reason so many content creators and subscribers are loving messages of the end times.

In conclusion the reason is they’re right!
