This week, we are asking the question “What or Whom do you trust?” Verses 1-6 talk about those that put their trust in wealth and money and the consequences of that false god. Verses 7-12 encourages us to trust instead in the one true God in patience and perseverance and we’ll talk about the final section at the end of our time together today.

“Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near.” James 5:7-8, NIV

Make It Yours: Prepare and Reflect 

1. Finish Strong! On the following pages you will find the rest of Chapter 5, the end of the book of James. Read James 5:13-20 at least twice on your own in the coming week and plan to study it with a friend or with a River Valley Sisterhood group. 
2. Journal and expand on what you’ve learned this week and/or take notes of what you’re learning as you read the text and prepare to finish the book of James in the second half of Chapter 5.
