The Book of Proverbs (Hebrew משלי, mishlèy; Greek Παροιμίες, paroimíes; Latin Prouerbia) is a text contained in the Old Testament of the Christian Bible.
It is written in Hebrew and, according to the hypothesis most shared by scholars, the final editing of the book took place in Judea in the fifth century BC, collecting texts composed by unknown authors along the previous centuries until the monarchical period (XI-X century BC).
