January 07, 2022Isaiah 25Today we are discussing Isaiah's praise and worship of God as he looks about after the aftermath of destruction that has been leveled at the world in chapter 24. A few themes that make their way into John happen in this chapter as well as some call backs to the book of Exodus. As a reference note, Noah couldn't find the reference for a story in Exodus where the Israelite Elders and Moses have a meal with God during this recording, but the reference is in Exodus chapter 24. The banquet and meal is less emphasized but it's still a part of the sacrificial system that occurs in that chapter. ...more31minPlay

December 03, 2021Isaiah 21Join us for our dive into Isaiah chapter 21 where the author of Isaiah takes us through another chapter that focuses on Babylon, Dumah, and Arabia. Noah breaks down why Babylon gets mentioned again and Ashley discusses some of the historical invasions that happened between the Medes and Babylon in Daniel 5 that may be the historical reference for this chapter. It's a fun dive into the world of Isaiah you don't want to miss. Editors Note: Near the end of this episode we had a few technical difficulties that lead to the section discussing Arabia being cut short. We wish this wasn't the case but it briefly gets mentioned and we hope this will encourage you to read this section on your own and develop some thoughts surrounding it as well. ...more30minPlay

Thanks so much for your continued support as we work our way through one of the longest books in the Bible....more35minPlay
November 05, 2021Isaiah 18Join Noah and Ashley this week as we sit down and discuss the most vague and obscure prophecy in the entire book of Isaiah according to several commentators. This week is all about the land of Cush which is located in the southern plains just west of Egypt. As an editors aside, Noah at one point discusses the alliance between Egypt and Cush, however he mistakenly uses the name Ethiopia when he meant to use the word Egypt. This can get a little confusing but he only makes the mistake twice before returning to the word Egypt but we figured it was best to point it out so you don't get too confused. Thanks so much for your continued support! Let us know how we are doing in the comments!...more23minPlay
