Dream Jelly is an online slime boutique specializing in creative sensory slime kits and slime parties for children.
Lana Smit founded Dream Jelly from her Durban kitchen, with the help of her daughter, encouragement from her friends, and capital from her grocery budget.
Dream Jelly quickly turned from a fun project to a thriving small business!
I caught up with Lana to learn about her mom-journey and how it sparked a journey into entrepreneurship. She also shares great practical examples of how she bootstrapped her start-up, by leveraging her network of friends, DIY-ing product design and production, and only moving on to a new phase of business development, once she was confident in the need for her product and the market it serves.
