  • Ep. 11 “My Reborn Life Is Just Getting Started”
Y’all, I really feel like I’m stepping into a whole NEW chapter of my life. 💕 And no, everything isn’t perfect—but things are MOVING.
This week I’m checking in about everything that’s been going on. The money I’ve been speaking about finally started coming in, The Boss Talk hit over 10K views on YouTube, and even though I barely did anything with the podcast last week—zip, zilch, ZERO 😂—we’re still growing. Now it’s time for me to get back on my shit and do the work.
But I’m also getting real about something I’ve been feeling lately: loneliness. My daughter is getting older, she’s in high school, she has her own life, and I’m realizing that one day my baby is really going to leave the nest. And that has me thinking about ME. What does the next chapter of Akeema’s life look like?
I’m talking about my mental health, possibly facing another brain surgery, creating a new routine, getting my finances and budget together, making room for self-care, and learning that sometimes I have to take life one DAY or even one SECOND at a time.
But one thing I know? It’s my time to be happy. I’m speaking love, peace, success, family and my soft girl era into existence. 😂💕 I’ve been through enough. This reborn life? Oh, baby… it’s about to be LIT.
Whatever you’re going through, KEEP GOING. Life is going to life, but that doesn’t mean your story stops there.

  • Ep. 10 “Parenting, Love & Speaking It Into Existence”
Y’all, this week we’re talking about PARENTING because whew… raising a teenager is NOT for the weak! 😭😂

My daughter is a freshman now, puberty is PUBERTY-ING, and sometimes I’m sitting here wondering what happened to my little bestie! But watching her grow up also has me thinking about motherhood, the kind of family I still want for myself, and what this next chapter of my life could look like.

I’m also checking in about my own week, getting myself back on track, dating with intention, being abstinent, wanting marriage before I have another baby, and why I’m DONE settling for anything less than the love and family I actually want.

And one thing I’m standing on: stop speaking negatively over your own life. I’m speaking love, happiness, growth, success AND money on the way! 😂💕

What I want for my life, I’m going to speak it, work toward it and believe it can happen.
Because whether it’s parenting, relationships or just LIFE… we’re all figuring this shit out as we go. 😂

  • Ep. 9 "Stop Letting People Waste Your Time"
Y’all, this week we’re talking about TIME, boundaries, relationships and those red flags we see but sometimes choose to ignore. 👀

I’m learning that people can’t waste your time unless you keep giving it to them. You can tell somebody exactly what you’re looking for, what you’re healing from and what you will NOT tolerate—but at some point, it’s up to YOU to believe what they show you.

We’re talking about dating with intention, knowing when to walk away, cheating, protecting your peace, standing on your boundaries and why sometimes we fall for somebody’s “representative” instead of who they really are.

And of course, I’m checking in with y’all about my own week, staying positive even when life is LIFE-ING, and my Boss Up Plan for the week. 💕

Stop forcing the wrong puzzle piece to fit into your life. When somebody shows you who they are, believe them—and remember, your time belongs to YOU.

  • Ep. 8 “I May Crack, But I Won’t Break”
Y’all… these last two weeks have been A LOT. 😩

I didn’t drop an episode last week, but it wasn’t because I was slacking. I was going through some real-life shit and I made the decision to get help and admit myself into a psychiatric facility.

Now when I tell y’all the experience was giving TWILIGHT ZONE?! 😭 I was lied on, moved to a higher-acuity floor, dealt with a situation where I didn’t feel protected, and at one point I was really sitting there like… what the hell did I get myself into?!
But here’s the crazy part: I still got something positive out of it.

I learned some things about myself. I learned new coping skills, got help with my medication management, and realized how badly I need structure and a routine in this new chapter of my life.

And THAT is what this episode is really about.

    I may crack, but I won’t break.

Sometimes getting help doesn’t look pretty. Sometimes life will knock you all the way down. But if I can find the + in the negative, I can keep going.

We’re talking mental health, asking for help, compassion, healing, and what I’m doing next in this week’s Boss Up Plan. This one is personal, y’all. 💕

⚠️ Content Warning: This episode discusses suicidal thoughts, a past suicide attempt, psychiatric hospitalization, sexual harassment, and mental health struggles.

  • Ep. 7 “ Look at how far we’ve come”
***Disclaimer*** I said “Nolan Wells” when I meant “ Carmelo Anthony”. I do apologize for the confusion, the people I may of offended and I also apologize to the families. ❤️

Y’all, this episode is a REAL conversation.
There’s so much going on in the world right now, and sometimes it can feel like everything is getting worse. But I had to remind myself of something…
Look how far we’ve already come.
This week I’m talking about the economy, Black progress, the justice system, Tupac being WAY ahead of his time, some of the cases that changed the way I look at this country, and why I still believe we have so much more growing to do.
I’m not ignoring the bad. I’m choosing not to let the bad make me forget the progress.
Because one thing about me is I’m going to find the positive somewhere. 😂 And if you can find the positive even in the negative, you can’t be stopped. PERIOD.

  • Ep. 6 “Why do we stay?”
Y’all… this episode triggered me a little bit. 😂 But we had to TALK.

Why do we stay in situations we KNOW aren’t good for us? Relationships, jobs, friendships, environments… whatever it is.
I had to use myself as the example because I spent YEARS waiting on somebody else to see my worth. But at some point I had to be real with myself…

He didn’t waste my time. I wasted my own time.

And whew. 😮‍💨 Accountability will humble you.

This episode is about self-worth, settling, toxic situations, taking accountability, knowing when it’s time to GO, and continuing to grow even when you keep hearing no.

Because you can get 1,000 no’s — all you need is ONE yes.

And y’all know I had to get in somebody’s business before I left. 😂 I also give my commentary on Trump publicly discussing the security measures taken after a reported threat and coming from my experience serving in the military, I definitely had some THOUGHTS. 👀

💬 Be honest: Have you ever stayed in a relationship, job, friendship, or situation way longer than you knew you should have? What finally made you leave?

  • Ep. 5 “Having the faith of a mustard seed”
This week tested me for real.

Between moving, things not going the way I planned, and having moments where I could’ve easily stressed myself out, I had to stand on everything I’ve been saying these past few weeks:

Stop stressing over what you can’t control. Stay positive. Have faith.

Sometimes all God needs from you is a little bit of faith. I gave Him my 1%, and He showed me what He could do with it. 🙏🏾

This episode is about trusting God even when you don’t know how things are going to work out, staying positive through the chaos, and realizing that sometimes you just have to do your part and let God handle the rest.

🌱 All you need is the faith of a mustard seed.

⚠️ QUICK NOTE: Due to moving and trying out a new recording setup this week, the audio quality isn’t as clear as usual. Y’all bear with me! I still wanted to put this episode out because the message was too important for me not to share.

💬 What’s something you’ve had to stop trying to control and just give to God? Let me know in the comments.

  • Ep. 4 “Learning to Give Myself Grace”
This week has been one of my hardest since starting this podcast.

Between moving, creating content, trying to stay healthy, and learning to give myself grace, I realized something…

Growth doesn’t always look like doing more. Sometimes it looks like slowing down, resting, and trusting the process.
In this episode, I talk about:

    ✨ Giving yourself grace
    ✨ Positive affirmations
✨ Manifesting the life you want
    ✨ My healing journey
✨ Why I’ve changed my lifestyle
✨ Learning to rest without guilt
