The Brad Galli Show

Tate Ratledge was destined to play on Detroit offensive line. His rookie year began with a bumpy start, but that came with a position change.

A lot has happened leading into his second year with the Lions: he got married, got a haircut, and returned to playing guard. Ratledge is helping shape Offensive Line 2.0 under Dan Campbell, a coach that fits the lineman's personality and "aggressive" tendencies that were built at a young age.

Daniss Jenkins was one of the best stories in the NBA last season.

The undrafted free agent turned his opportunity with the Pistons into a standard, two-year contract with Detroit. The 25-year-old guard didn't spend the offseason soaking in the spotlight. Quite the opposite. He made sure his drive keeps growing.

"You know people are happy for me and rooting for me, because it's like an American Dream, it's like the underdog story," he said. "But at the same time, I try not to get too caught up into it, because if it's the other way around and you're not doing so well, if you're still feeding off of that, what do you have to feed off of?"

Jenkins walks into the Pistons 2026-27 season knowing he belongs. The contract says as much. But he wants more – for himself and the Pistons.

"I shot out of a cannon. Then I had some ups and downs, but I'm always going to look at it head-on, and try to put my best foot forward."

INTERVIEW: Red Wings defenseman Moritz Seider speaks like a leader, plays like a leader, and commands any room like the leader he's become.

Seider begins his sixth season in Detroit as off-ice chaos dominated the story for the organization all summer. He explained his approach to steadying the ship, and why last season's collapse stuck with him for months.

The German-born NHL star said he barely gets recognized back home, and he's just fine with that. We talked about what he loves about playing in Detroit, and why fans shouldn't give up on the guys who want to play in Hockeytown.

INTERVIEW: Penei Sewell begins his sixth NFL season with a new level of fire and purpose.

That may sound crazy for an All-Pro who is still only 25 years old, but Sewell absolutely hated going 9-8 last season.

The Lions star spent the offseason looking in the mirror to light a new fire, as he moved to left tackle, stepping out of his comfort zone on and off the field.

NTERVIEW: Dan Miller is entering his 22nd season as the radio voice of the Lions. After enduring some of the worst seasons in franchise history, you better believe he has his Super Bowl call ready for when that day comes.

INTERVIEW: Lions defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard hears the questions about Detroit’s defense. He explained why he has an “all-time high” confidence in the secondary.

Sheppard is one of two people on Dan Campbell’s staff who have been with him every day he’s been a head coach. We talked about their relationship, life as a dad in the NFL, and being a rarity in football: a coach active on social media.

He sat down and talked with Brad Galli in the final days of training camp about the expectations facing his defense, and the Lions as a whole.

Derrick Barnes has been with the Lions since 2021, and is proud of the way he's blossomed in his career as a late bloomer. He reflected on times where he thought Detroit's staff would move on from him, and the pride he has in the trust he's earned

Barnes also shared that Lions fans (and Buccaneers fans) find him almost daily to talk about the interception in the 2023 NFC Divisional Playoffs.
