INTERVIEW: Penei Sewell begins his sixth NFL season with a new level of fire and purpose. 

That may sound crazy for an All-Pro who is still only 25 years old, but Sewell absolutely hated going 9-8 last season. 

The Lions star spent the offseason looking in the mirror to light a new fire, as he moved to left tackle, stepping out of his comfort zone on and off the field.

INTERVIEW: Tyler Conklin is back in Michigan, playing for his hometown Lions. He played college basketball his freshman year at Northwood, and decided to switch to football while watching a Michigan State game on TV.

Eight NFL seasons under his belt, the L'Anse Creuse North High School graduate has family and friends elated to see him in the Honolulu blue.

"Being able to live at home and drive down to work, and play for the hometown team, it's a cool feeling," Conklin said.

"I'm pumped. Even the preseason game at home, driving the highways and roads I've drove my whole life... I'm excited to get it going in the regular season."
