Rioting In Minnesota is Not Social Justice

Outrage following the death of George Floyd in police custody has resulted in massive rioting.  Citizens have taken to the streets in largely peaceful protests to stand against racial injustice.  However, there were potentially foreign actors causing harm and damage which would give a bad name to those who were wanting true change.  But is rioting the way to get real justice?

Sweden Is Becoming the Benchmark for Handling COVID-19

Studies are continually showing that the lock downs across the nation did not help stop the spread of the coronavirus.  It's been proven that the number of deaths resulting from COVID-19 is the same regardless of the extreme measures taken to shut down the economy.  The main reason is that most of the deaths occurred in parts of the population who were elderly and more susceptible to the virus.  As more evidence comes to light, it is revealed that the knee-jerk reaction by tyrannical governors pushed the nation over the edge.

Trump and the Social Media War

Trump has signed an executive order removing the protection social media monopolies enjoy.  Known as "Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act" this provides protections from harmful posts of users to online communities.  In recent years, social media companies have used it to give them carte blanche to remove, censor, or "fact check" any post deemed unapproved.  This move is opening up opportunity for lawsuits against the companies trying to censor speech.  If they want to be viewed as a public utility, they should treat users this way.  If they'd like to censor users, they should be treated as a publisher.  Very simple.
