According to Positive Parenting experts:
"Just say no to saying no. Create a YES Environment."
Kids are always asking us for something and most of us parents will quickly answer with a straight forward "no." No we can't go to the water park today, it's freezing and it's the middle of the busy week.
Well, if we always respond with no our kids will resent it.
Find opportunities to say “yes” when you can.
Using the example above tweak your response to “Going to the water park sounds like so much fun. Should we go tomorrow after school or on Saturday?”
Plus, according to the positive parenting technique children are born with a healthy curiosity, and they need the freedom to safely explore their surroundings. So...stop telling them no to everything they get into around the house and touch.
