Today's episode is a walk down memory lane with one of my dearest friends, Butch Burns. Butch and I met at church in the early 1980's. Around 1990 we decided we should probably meet once a week and try to figure out what the secret to marriage, parenting, career and life was in general and how to be successful at all of the above.
That was the beginning of a strong friendship that is still going strong today. We've both passed the 60 years old mark and are now granddad's. And even though we live in different states, whenever we get to see each other or just talk on the phone, we pick up right where we left off the last time we were together.
Butch's life played a big part in shaping me into the man, father and Christian that I am today.
I hope you enjoy this conversation on mentoring with my buddy Butch Burns.
This week I have a discussion with Taylor Castleberry. I had the privilege of mentoring him a while back. Taylor is a young man that is authentic and truthful about the highs and lows of his life and is a faithful follower of Jesus. He's also a great guitar player and we are blessed to have him in our church worship band. Taylor is preparing to be a dad for the first time this summer. It was a great conversation. Hope you enjoy my time with Taylor.
For week two of Mentor May, Brent has a conversation with long time friend and former employee Jeff Atwood. The stories get more crazy as the minutes go by as they share about parenting and thoughts from Jeff's new book, "Need To Know" for graduates. There are great lessons for all of us in the hilarious episode.
To start out the month of May discussing mentoring, we have my friend Brent Warren. We are discussing how our friendship has been strengthened as we walk together through any and everything life throws at us. We hope you enjoy this episode and realize the importance of mentoring in your own life. Enjoy!!
As you look back through your life, can you remember times when God was in the details?
This week, Brent and Haley look back on seeing God's hand in the details of their lives. Especially when it comes to buying houses!!
As we discuss what Easter means to us, Brent shares his frustrations about Good Friday and Haley sings two old Easter songs and tries to convince everyone it’s one song.
This week we're remembering our first jobs as teenagers. Brent's included having a shotgun pointed at his face and Haley was a cow handing out food.
Haley puts Brent on the spot with rapid fire questions about life and his answers confirm to Haley how weird her dad really is.
Listen in as Brent interviews Haley and Josh about what they thought marriage and parenting would be like and what reality is now that they're in year 13.
Hang on and get ready to learn some true wisdom and belly laugh.
This week’s conversation is about Brent's real life heroes and the importance of having mentors AND mentoring those who come behind us.
