  • Living on the Edge with Chip Ingram Daily Podcast - The Real God - The Wisdom of God, Part 1

What's the biggest challenge you’re facing right now? Finances? A relationship? A health issue? You need strength and you need endurance. Chip suggests that there’s one thing that will revolutionize your approach to this situation. Join him as he talks about God's wisdom.

Introduction: What is the biggest challenge you’re facing in your life right now?

    Defining the wisdom of God:

    • “Wisdom, among other things, is the ability to devise perfect ends and to achieve those ends by the most perfect means. It sees the end from the beginning, so there can be no need to guess or conjecture… All God’s acts are done in perfect wisdom, first for His own glory, and then for the highest good of the greatest number for the longest time…Not only could His acts not be better done: a better way to do them could not be imagined.” -A. W. Tozer, Knowledge of the Holy

How has God revealed His wisdom to us?

    • Through CREATION -Psalm 19:1-7
    • Through PROVIDENCE -Psalm 33:10-11
    • Through REDEMPTION -1 Corinthians 2:6-10
    • Through His SON -1 Corinthians 1:30

How must we respond to the wisdom of God?

    • We must LEARN to live wisely! -Ephesians 5:15-17

    HOW do we do that?

    • We must REVERENCE God’s ways. -Proverbs 1:7; Job 28:28
    • We must RECEIVE His Word. -Psalm 119:97-100, 2 Timothy 3:15-17
    • We must ASK for it specifically. -James 1:5; Colossians 1:9
    • We must learn to TRUST Him completely… that all that comes our way is from the hand of a good and loving God who knowing all things actual and possible, is exerting His unlimited power to execute the best possible outcomes, by the best possible means, to fulfill the highest possible purposes.

  • Expounding the Word - Mark 3:7-24 Part 1

You know what’s the most beautiful thing about the past? It stays there. Many people hold on to their baggage until it weighs them down, but that’s not what it’s like to follow Jesus. He sees what you’re carrying, and instead of brushing you aside or dismissing what you feel, He offers you a hand. That’s why in today’s message, Pastor Chris wants you to know that with Jesus Christ, you can be free of who you were and what you went through and become the person Jesus wants you to be.

    8. Living on the Edge with Chip Ingram Daily Podcast - The Real God - The Holiness of God, Part 2

God's holiness raises two really great questions: 1) If God is so holy that He can't even look at sin, how can sinful people have a relationship with Him? 2) If trusting Jesus' sacrifice on the cross to cover our sin and make us holy in God's sight, why do we keep on sinning? Join Chip as he tackles these and more.

      Defining the Holiness of God:

      • “We know nothing like the divine holiness. It stands apart, unique, unapproachable, incomprehensible and unattainable. The natural man is blind to it. He may fear God’s power and admire His wisdom, but His holiness he cannot even imagine.” -A. W. Tozer, Knowledge of the Holy

How does God reveal His holiness to us?

      • Through SUPERNATURAL ENCOUNTERS
      • Through PLACES
      • Through the LAW
      • Through the PROPHETS
      • Through His WRATH and JUDGMENT
      • Through His SON
      • Through His PEOPLE

God’s holiness raises two important questions:

      1. If God is so holy that He cannot even gaze at sin, how can sinful people like us have a relationship with Him? -Romans 5:6-10
      2. If trusting in Christ’s work on the cross blots out our sin before God and we are holy in His sight, why do we keep on sinning?
      • Justification: Positional holiness - Point-in-time status with God
      • Sanctification: Progressive holiness - Ongoing improvement
      • Glorification: Permanent holiness - We are finally like Him

How must we respond to the holiness of God?

      • It’s a COMMITMENT we make. -Hebrews 12:14
      • It’s a COMMAND we obey. -1 Peter 1:13-16, Hebrew 13:4

    9. Expounding the Word - Mark 2:18-3:6 Part 2

Have you ever been to a church where the pastor delivers a great message, one that truly resonates with you, yet there isn’t a single scripture in the entire sermon? That reflects the reality in many churches around the world, where charlatans and motivational speakers stand behind the pulpit, preaching from the flesh rather than from the Bible. In today’s message, Pastor Chris urges you to stay biblically grounded and to ensure that the church you attend is spiritually nourishing you with the Word of God.

    10. Living on the Edge with Chip Ingram Daily Podcast - The Real God - The Holiness of God, Part 1

God is holy, and He wants us to be holy, but how do we do that? What’s it really look like to be holy? Do we have to give up everything fun? Do we have to be serious 24/7 and keep a perfect, holy checklist? Join Chip for the surprising answer.

      Defining the Holiness of God:
