We tend to be passionate about many different things in life however where should our passion truly rest. In scripture the apostle Paul exemplifies true passion for Christ and the Gospel. Leaders find themselves facing moments of tension. As long as there is brokenness in the word, there will always be tensions. In moments of tension, there is one question leaders must ask.

Wherever you find groups of people, you can find division. Unfortunately, the church is not exempt. Tension can arise between others and us. We may choose to separate ourselves from others simply out of lack of desire. Meanwhile, Satan desires to destroy us. We must be willing to set aside our differences, opinions, petty disagreements, and sloth, and band together in community.

There are three cravings of the soul: intimacy, significance, and meaning. Whenever we seek to find satisfy our soul cravings outside of Christ, we can be left feeling empty and disillusioned. Jesus wants his followers to realize that our true identity is in Him. He makes us complete. When we lived based on our identity in Christ, we discover true fulfillment.

Most of us carry secrets at some point in our lives. We can find ourselves living with a secret when we’ve done something we are ashamed or engaging in activity that we should be avoiding. Eventually, secrets tend to seep. What is done in darkness often comes to light. And they tend to come out at the most unexpected time in the most unexpected ways.

Have you ever taken a road trip to an unfamiliar town only to find that your GPS was not providing you with accurate information? From time to time we can find ourselves relying on an old map of a new area. Our Christian lives can often also leave us feeling like we are trying to make our way through life using an old set of directions.
