In today's world, the question is not have you looked at pornography, but rather what is your relationship with pornography? Through powerful testimonies, videos, and an honest message, you’ll hear how porn is impacting our culture. Our intention with a day like Porn Sunday is to offer hope, resources, and next steps to finding real answers and freedom, for both men and women who have been affected by pornography use and addiction.

The quickest way to find happiness is to not seek it but to give it away. By giving of ourselves we can find happiness in our selflessness. The best way to fill ourselves up is to pour ourselves out.

In John 10:10-11, we read about a thief that is out to kill, steal and destroy. In the very same way, we have the ability to destroy our own happiness. When we seek momentary pleasure rather than the principles of happiness, we steal everlasting happiness from ourselves. On the other hand, if we choose happiness God’s way, rather than momentary pleasure, we might discover that happiness was within our grasp all along.

Many people try to find happiness and security in rituals and rules that tend to exclude and exploit. However, Jesus modeled what life is like beyond the rules, laws and doctrines. Jesus’ way focuses on grace and forgiveness. When we stop chasing the former, the latter brings us peace.

All of us want to be “happy.” But what does happiness truly look like? You think we would have found it by now, but we haven’t. So what if happiness was more about WHO than WHAT? What if it was more about people than things? In week one of our series, we will discover that a truly happy person is someone “at peace” with themselves, others, and God. Anything that undermines this peace threatens our happiness and affects all of our life.

Most people don’t have a problem with God.  After all, plenty of people show up for church on Christmas and Easter.  Unfortunately, people do have a problem with the church primarily because Christians have made the message of Jesus so complex and confusing that people simply write it off as irrelevant.  What could be so confusing about a House Party? Right? When you start with—“Everybody is Included”—the rest is just details!

Freedom is the hallmark of the American Dream—people want to be independent and free to make their own choices in life. While the thought of autonomy and independence is appealing and even desirable, if we’re not careful, our freedom quest can lead to feelings of loneliness and unimportance. At the House Party, we use our freedom to serve others and to work together toward a common goal. Not only is this rewarding and fulfilling but it means everybody is important!

Most religions present God as this egotistical celebrity who grants limited access to human beings based on specific deeds we must perform. We must earn our way into God’s good graces—do this, don’t do that, and you might make the guest list. Christianity, on the other hand, describes access to God like being invited to a huge House Party and getting on the guest list has nothing to do with good or bad deeds which means everybody is invited!

We pray and pray and pray that God will change our situation and we believe He has the power to do so—but what if He doesn’t? Strong, defiant faith worships God EVEN IF our situation doesn’t change!

n our instant society, we want things now not later. We absolutely hate to wait. So, why does God make us wait for His answers?
