The Bright Side Comics Chat

🎒A very special episode this week for Issue #96 as John and DJ are joined by DJ's daughter Meg AND Dr Joe to talk Harry Potter.  They all give their opinions on the movie and the series as a whole.  They also get Dr Joe's expertise on the books and how they compare to the movies.  Meg actually found a similarity between the movie and The Bright Side Chat that is pretty interesting. They all had a lot of fun chatting and just hanging out.

🎒Obviously the DC Layoffs are at the front of everyone's minds and John and DJ get into that with their thoughts and opinions but there was also some fun to be had as well.  News and rumors including X-Men, Spider-Man 3, The Witcher, Hulu Announcement, listener comments and a visit with an old friend.  All that and a whole bunch of books and lots of DC reading as Nudie and Pretzel dive back into the world of DC.

Two pieces of HUGE news this week.  One is that IT'S TIME TO RELEASE THE HOUNDS!!  John and DJ are excited to be back at it and reading DC again and they talk about their agonizing, long hiatis from all things DC and what they're going to do first.  The second piece of big news is a surprise POP IN.  The first ever Bright side pop in to Arkham Comics and games and its a fun one.  Of course theres plenty of comic book store talk as well so lets get into the store...

So much to get to in this episode of an almost 40 year old...  classic?  John and DJ go back and forth debating on the merits of set design, acting, talk about Vulcan Funerals and the difference between Irish and Scottish.  There's even a little controversy thrown in for fun, because you know, these guys tend to trend on the wild side.  So for a wild ride just head into the store...

🎒John and DJ chat SPOILER FREE for the first 22 minutes to make their case as to why you should check out the latest Netflix Original series based on a Comic Book.  Then they lock the door and break down the series, the actual comic by Ben Dunn, all the spoilers and an ending that turned this show into an instant water cooler conversation.

How did this happen but Indie Comics are taking over and John and DJ have a few things to say about that and also why "Capes and Tights" are still very important.  Plus another RUMOR that for some reason has recently become NEWS. 🎒Is this movie faithful to the comic?  Should it have been a series? Do you want to be Immortal? SHOULD we be Immortal? What are the ethics of science vs religion? John and DJ break down all that and more when they talk about Netflix' latest adaptation of this Greg Rucka series from Image Comics.
