At a time when many struggle with anxiety the gift of peace through the presence of the Holy Spirit is often overlooked or over stressed. In this series we seek to appropriately speak Biblical truths into the lived reality of many of us, including faithful followers of Jesus.

This week Andrew looks at Christ Our Peace - Ephesians 2:11-22

Andrew and Rachael lead our Broadview community, have three wonderful kids and desire to participate in God's renewal through King Jesus. Andrew loves to ride his motorbike, drink coffee, almost any team sport and figure out the most creative or fastest way to anywhere using a map or his sense of direction.

Rachael and Andrew lead our Broadview Community.  Rachael is a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages) teacher and lecturer. Currently Rachael is working for Baptist Care in the church support team, whose aim is to engage and equip Baptist churches in engaging and supporting their neighbourhood.  She is passionate about those living in the margins, especially refugees and asylum seekers.

Throughout Luke's gospel, Meals with Jesus are important theme. What happens at these meals, who is invited and what is shared create a picture for us of what God's Kingdom is like and how radical it is.

This week Reuben looks at Luke 14: 1 - 24.

Apart from being a beloved part of our community, Reuben is also the Baptist Chaplin to Adelaide University. Reuben is married to Jodie and the Dad of two wonderful girls. There really isn't much that Reuben can't do, whether its creating a beautiful meal or coffee, repairing a roof or building a picket fence.

Michael is a practicing doctor (GP) specialising in addiction and on the board of Maranatha Health (MH). Michael along with his family are a treasured part our community.  Michael and Kim are both passionate about the marginalised and health and spent 7 years establishing a hospital in Fort Portal, Kabarole District, Uganda.  If you'd like to know more about MH you can follow the link here.

Ian Ellis is an elder at RBC and is the previous lead pastor of Rostrevor Baptist Church. Ian was instrumental in the formation of the revitalisation at Broadview by exploring what it might look like for Broadview to become a part of the RBC family.

This week Miria shares from 1 Samuel 30

The Book of 1 Samuel outlines the fall of King Saul & David's rise to the throne as a humble servant of God.

It tells the dramatic story of Israel's desire for an earthly king to rule over them. Despite God's warning that such a king would fall short, God relents and King Saul rules with disastrous consequences. A faithful king is on the rise, however it's only by coming to God in humility and obedience that their - and our - greatest hopes can be fulfilled.

Miria and her husband Mark are key leaders in our community, both are dedicated to see others come to know Jesus, His love for the world and His grace and power in their lives. They enjoy a good board game over coffee, singing worship in the car, a musical or being part of a full house at the Adelaide Oval.

This week Tricia shares from 1 Samuel 20: 1-7.
